Caledonian Hotel

Location of the hotel is good on the waterfront/beach. Free Parking for Hotel Patrons, otherwise paid for. Electric vehicle charging also available onsite at an additional cost. Walkable to all local sites and eateries, coffee shops and beach. Needs a renovation and general modernisation to the hotel, when I stayed it was super busy with alot of traffic of people staying. Finding Staff to ask questions and queries was difficult, seemed to be short staffed. I had to wait 10-15 minutes to get checked in and get the key to my room and there was no queue but just no available staff to attend to me. No lift available to take luggage back and forth up and down stairs proved to be challenging. Given the price if these points were addressed the hotel would meet the costs of the hotel.

Friendly staff in a well maintained but dated hotel. Big towels a real plus. Room had a stale to musty smell

Lovely clean room, nice staff We arrived at breakfast to be told no more scrambled eggs would be made and no sausage, not a great choice so disappointed really, won’t be staying again

Spacious room, friendly staff, restaurant on site, and parking. Close to attractions and the harbour A minor hassle but an odd decision to place a very small sink (the bathroom is spacious, could use a bigger sink) directly below the mirror shelf, making it not very usable

The property n33ds a good deep clean.

The bistro food was good.Parking was free on the adjacent car park. The room with no view.The listing pictures do not show the annex which is like a premier inn add on.This is where we were put in a pokey bedroom.The bedding was filthy ie the matress protector was all stained.This was pointed out to reception the next day.Opted for the continental breakfast and they had no coissants.Whn asked for some was told that as soon as they were put out they went so there were none left.Simply not good enough for £195.50 .It seems that the hotels charge what they like if you are anywhere near the NC500.

We liked how close the hotel was to the ferry and to various eateries. The room was quite small - but we weren't here to stay in the room except to sleep, so that was OK!

Convenient location (can walk all over town from the hotel), free parking (although the walk from parking to front desk to room was long and there is no lift), comfortable beds. The staff was friendly and helpful. Clean bathroom. Room was small and dated. Main surfaces were clean but we had to get the fan down from the top of the wardrobe (it was rather warm and there is no AC) and it was covered in dust. No mini fridge so we had to borrow an ice bucket from the bar to chill our cooler items overnight. Walls and ceilings are thin so you can hear the movement of other guests.

Location was excellent. And it was very clean. Neither my husband nor I have any disabilities and we booked a room designated “accessible “ because the cost was the lowest we could find. Even at that it as $300 USD. It was advertised as a twin so no surprises there. But what we were presented with was a room with two small beds, one in essentially a separate bedroom nook, no luggage rack or any surface upon which to put luggage, an enormous bathroom with the tiniest possible sink making even washing hands challenging for anyone other than someone with child-size hands, and no hooks or other spots to hand toiletries bags. It was nonetheless touted as a “bespoke hotel”.

It was centrally located in a great location, very comfortable room. The staff were very helpful and breakfast was nice. Nothing. I think it was great.

Very comfortable room in a hotel close to the harbor with ferries to Skye. We enjoyed walking around the harbor in the evening. Comfortable room. Close to restaurants.

THe original reserved hotel was closed. Upon arriving there was a sign on the door saying check in at the hotel next door. The room was unillustrious. The location was inconvenient. The original location could have been open and we could have been notified in advance of the substitution.

Great location . Common areas are quite nice. I am large. The bed was very small. The reception staff is limited & often pre-occupied or missing.

Near the ferry. Good fish and chips

The staff were friendly and helpful and welcoming. The hotel was warm, on a cool day outside.

Nothing to dislike.

Good central location with free parking. Restaurant onsite was good. Room in 3rd floor was hot and windows did not open.

No help with bags. Reception was chilly.
