We stayed from August 22 to 24, 2026, and were very pleased. Our request for a high-floor room with a harbor view was honored. From room 901, you can see the Opera House, the Harbour Bridge, and the harbor itself; the view is especially stunning in the evening! The room was clean and equipped with everything needed for cooking. The reception staff were very friendly. The hotel is located in a quiet area, close to shops, cafes, and a bus stop. We recommend this hotel.

Location was great, as was the view from our harbour-facing room (we paid extra for that). Comfy bed, quiet. It was a small room - 3 star European size. Okay cafes nearby for breakfast. Close to some good restaurants. Public transport close by. The Booking.com site showed a breakfast room and daily time slot. No such thing. We were pointed to nearby cafes or told to use room service (motel like items). Floor of the very basic kitchenette was quite unstable - something wrong with the underlay. Shower door leaked water every time, no matter how we tried to prevent it. Some of the renovations were a bit shonky, and ALL the lights were very bright - no subtle lighting here.

Welcoming staff, great location, excellent value for money for the single night, and nicely appointed with lots of amenities. Nothing. Everything was brilliant.

Staff were fantastic. The location is perfect and the facilities were solid. I will absolutely look to stay at the Macleay Hotel again when I next visit Sydney.
