The breakfast room attendants were not proactive. The vibe was similar to a budget level hotel with free breakfast. The room was very small for two travelers with large suitcases.

Very clean and updated. Great roof top bar, friendly staff. The regular rooms were tiny, real tiny, no room to leave the suit case opened tiny.

Variation in breakfast foods would be nice, the food was pretty much the same for all 4 days we were there.

My wife and I liked absolutely everything about the Guardian. It's conveniently located. There are several great restaurants in walking distance. There is a little market in walking distance. Hotel is very very clean, modern, and staffed with excellent people.

The room is very small we had almost no place to open our suitcases which was very inconvenient. Also the water in the shower wasn't warm. It was either very hot or somewat cold nothing in between.

Not so much Please stay away from this hotel if you want pleasent time in Rome. They are far from 4* hotel. I've got different room than the one I reserved. It appeared to be a room with a sink outside the bathroom!! (see attached photo). The bathroom is essential for me when I make my choice of reservation. When I reported the issue the staff become rude and unhelpful. Well, I did not pay so much money for not having a proper bathroom. So when you want to take a shower you must put all your stuff on the floor - not even a shelf there. They say they have soundproof rooms - no they don't. You hear the noise from the street (even on the 3rd floor), the noise from the hall and from the neighbors watching TV!! We were awake at night because somebody was watching TV. You can hear every word even in the so called "bathroom" . The walls are as thin as paper. Things are falling off the walls in the shower. Breakfast is simple, boring and everyday the same. Vegetables not fresh, never ate them. Far from 4* Location on busy street and 10 min walk from metro. Overall that was the worst hotet I have ever stayed in. Not worth the half of the price I've paid.

Main advantages – excellent staff, exceptionally clean and spotless, great breakfast by European standards, very spacious family room, rooftop terrace open late with an amazing view and perfect atmosphere (also serves as a restaurant and bar in the evening), and a nice gym for a boutique hotel. Overall, good value for money. Disadvantages – the location is about 2 km from the city center, the shower water fluctuates between cold and hot (we had read about this in reviews before booking), the double bed was made of two mattresses at different heights, one of which squeaked excessively and was uncomfortable, the elevator is very small and fits only 2–3 people, which is an issue when you’re on the 5th floor. Overall, we were aware of these things in advance, which is why we still give the hotel a score of 8.
