Location was amazing. Front desk gave great recommendations for food. Hotel was clean and bar had a great bartender who made amazing drinks. Even though we were paying guests there was an additional charge if you wanted to use the gym or plunge pool which doesn’t seem right to me. Have to go up stairs to access the elevators which is difficult if you have a large suitcase.

Central location, convenient for shopping, train station - everything we wanted was within walking distance Breakfast was grand with plenty of choice however hot food wasn't very hot. I did mention to staff and they said they were having problems with warmers!

The hotel itself is nicely decorated, has a lovely little bar on the ground floor. Each floor was clean and the lift, although small was useful considering there are six floors. All the staff I dealt with were lovely and helpful and a credit to the hotel. The room was actually a good size, and the bed was comfortable, with larger pillows. Power points placed near mirrors, which is good for those who need to dry hair, including iron and board for clothing. There are smaller things that probably were not thought about when designing the hotel; the lift is small, which given the building itself can't be helped but means that you often wait for it for a long time as it can't be overloaded (4 people max, or 2 with bags). The doors and stairs to the lift equally would be difficult with larger luggage. Both the bathroom hand pumps for conditioner and hand cream could not be used, as the pump isn't strong enough for the viscosity of the cream (small but a bit pointless having those if you can't use them). Windows can't be opened and so you rely on very cold air con, which can be uncomfortable at night.

Parts of it were very luxurious and comfortable. The spa was very nice. The first room we were given, despite being one of the premium rooms, was cell like with a small window facing a wall covered in heating units. The pipes rattled in the wall and the aircon was very loud. It reminded me of cheap breezeblock hotels in Thailand! The changing room for the sauna was essentially a cupboard along the hallway.
