Hotel El Dorado Bogota

The breakfast was good, rooms were alright. Not to say we did not like it, because the staff was really nice, but they barely spoke any other language than Spanish, so it was difficult to communicate most of the time.

Español Quedamos decepcionados del Hotel en esta última estadía. Dejamos en claro a la hora de hacer la reserva que nos dejaran una habitación en el sexto piso lejos del gimnasio y nos dieron la habitación que queda debajo del gimnasio diciendo que no tenían otra en ese mismo piso, por ende nos tocó quedarnos en el cuarto piso. En la primera habitación el lavamanos se dañó y nos tocó cambiarnos de habitación porque no tenían a quién arreglar el lavamanos ese mismo día, un detalle menor pero tuvimos un problema similar la última vez que nos quedamos en este hotel. Parece ser que la plomería es una debilidad del hotel. A la hora del check-out, tuvimos un desacuerdo por los cargos de la habitación. El personal nos dijo que no tenía autorización para modificar la factura y que el gerente no se encontraba en el hotel por ser un día festivo. Los días festivos en Colombia son frecuentes, así que esto debe ser un problema constante para los huéspedes. Nos vimos obligados a pagar los cargos en disputa. Además, con respecto a nuestra primera estadía en el mes de abril, nos hicieron un doble cobro de casi $2,000 USD. Nos comunicamos con el departamento de contabilidad y enviamos las pruebas de esto. Al principio se mostraron receptivos, pero ya han pasado tres semanas desde el último correo electrónico que recibimos de su parte, a pesar de nuestros múltiples intentos de seguimiento. El personal del hotel nos dijo que ellos no podían ayudarnos, que solo el departamento de contabilidad podía hacerlo y únicamente por correo electrónico. A estas alturas, ya no espero recuperar mi dinero por parte de ellos. Como aspecto positivo, el personal de limpieza es agradable y profesional, y la comida del restaurante Mai-Tai es deliciosa. La conexión a internet es buena y la cama es cómoda. Sin embargo, esto no compensa los problemas descritos anteriormente. English We were disappointed with the hotel during this last stay. When making the reservation, we made it clear that we wanted a room on the sixth floor, far from the gym. However, they assigned us a room directly below the gym, claiming they had no other options on that floor, so we ended up having to stay on the fourth floor instead (again). Additionally, the sink in our first room broke, and we had to change rooms because they didn't have anyone available to fix it that day. Minor, but we had a similar issue last time. Plumbing seems to be a general weakness of the hotel. At check-out, we had a disagreement over the charges to the room. The staff told us they had no authority to modify the invoice and that their manager was not at the hotel because it was a holiday. Holidays in Colombia are frequent so this must be a constant problem for guests. We were forced to pay for the disputed charges. Furthermore, regarding our first stay back in April, we were double-charged nearly $2,000 USD. We contacted the accounting department and sent proof of this. They were at first responsive, but it has now been three weeks since the last email we received from them, despite several attempts to follow up. The staff at the hotel said they could not help us, only the accounting department could and only via email. At this point, I don’t expect to get my money back from them. On a positive note, the housekeeping staff is pleasant and professional, and the food at the Mai-Tai restaurant is delicious. The internet connection is good, and the bed is comfortable. That doesn’t make up for the problems described above, however.

Very nice hotel and good breakfast

Great location , room was good. Breakfast was really bad, little to not food options, cold and even you have to ask if they have more food ( mind you the restaurant was almost empty at 7.30 am) and the buffet was pretty limited . Compared to other hotels I've stay at.

Room was spacious, bathroom was big, neighborhood was safe and full of restaurants, facilities were clean and nice (apparently they have a gym but we didn’t go), and breakfast was generous and with a lot of variety — it was really a highlight Nothing

Breakfast was terrible. Watered down juices, tasteless fruit. Very restricted selection, warm cheese. Dinner also had not all items available. All 3 persons at the Front desk say they don't speak English

Safe area in the city. Not much dislike. Nothing fancy and you get what you paid for.

Excellent Restaurant on the 7th floor. Good breakfast options. Bed was very uncomfortable. Staff didn't speak English.

Our room was very large and the the bed was very comfortable. There were fresh roses in our adjoining sitting room which was an extremely nice touch! The breakfast had an excellent choice of fresh and cooked items! A bit difficult communicating with the front desk about our laundry (really, our fault for not speaking Spanish!)--but a positive outcome was obtained!!

More English spoken - easier tv control - to get USA stations and news

Location is great. Very spacious rooms and great bathroom facilities. Cozy beds. Amazing breakfast! First night there was a wedding with extremely loud music till 1am. Nothing could be done about that. You literally have to suffer through the noise. I wish management would limit music till 11pm.

I've booked this same hotel many times through Booking. This time, the treatment was extremely poor; they wouldn't accept payment. Two rude employees. It's a shame, but the quality is poor.

Breakfast mediocre. No freshly squeezed juices and bread quality just ok. Eggs offering good.
