I am sharing my experience during check-in and the way my concerns were handled afterwards. At check-in, the staff member was visibly unfriendly and did not use even basic courteous language. When I said, “I would like to check in, please,” the only response was: “Passport.” After we pointed out that his manner felt unprofessional, he explained that he was simply “in a bad mood that day.” While I appreciate that everyone can have a difficult day, I do not consider this an appropriate explanation for treating guests in a cold and discourteous way. The same employee later offered to change my room and provide a complimentary drink. However, when I returned to reception and asked only for a bottle of still water, he began telling me that his manager did not think I should have been given the replacement room. This was unnecessary and made the interaction uncomfortable again. As a guest, I should not be made to feel that the hotel is doing me a personal favour or be lectured about an internal disagreement after the hotel has already decided to offer a solution. On the first day, I informed the staff that I wanted to check out early. I was told that the manager had not responded upon what I was asking and that the employee himself had no authority to make a decision. I also submitted a cancellation request and a written explanation through Booking.com. Nevertheless, by the following day, I had still received no proactive response from the hotel, either online or in person. I therefore had to go to reception again and spend additional time trying to clarify the situation. The employee who identified himself as the manager first stated that Booking.com would charge a first-night cancellation fee. After I showed him the relevant information on Booking.com, the explanation changed, and I was then told that it was the hotel’s own policy to charge for the unused part of the reservation. During this conversation, he repeatedly interrupted me, appeared unwilling to listen to the

The updated rooms are very nice and their air conditioner worked better than the first room that we were given. The breakfast options were one of the best that we had during 42 days across eight countries. We really enjoyed the live music on the weekend. It was something very special. We were given a room with red carpet up on the fifth floor with the AC that barely works during the heat wave. Fortunately, we were relocated to a lower level where the AC actually functioned. No parking available, or it was very inconvenient because of their parking regulations in Vienna

Staff and breakfast are truly exceptional, rooms are also excellent, spacious and with A/C! The location is in a rather quieter part of Vienna, but the access to trains are trams is really easy, so moving around the city was no problem at all. Two things that were really out of the hotel's control, is that one night we had city workers repairing the street literally outside our room between 8pm and 1-2am. It was probably an exceptional situation. The other is that there's a night club right next door, and the music was fairly loud on Saturday night. For those who sleep very lightly, some sort of sound machine or ear plugs would be helpful.

Everything! Beautiful hotel, comfortable and clean. Nothing to note.

Bedding and old styled room Pictures on the site are very misleading. The room is no where closed to be how represented in the pictures.
-
nice place, has an interesting design, combining an old building flair with a modern touch - It is clean, and well situatated, very close to metro and tram from the side of the hotel, all good
-
Room was clean and modern with a very cool with large musical instrument (double base ?) outside our room. Location next to U6 station was ideal for our needs. some ongoing renovation during the day is a little noisy.
-
Personal touches everywhere, including the instruments, Victrola, etc. and the obvious care that was evident in the common rooms, individual rooms and the garden. and the apple strudel! no idea!

the beds were comfortable the parking situation

The hotel is a bit on the outskirts of town, but with trolly and train under 5mins walking distance, that fact didn't bother us at all. There was also a couple fast food places bear by open very late incase you need a quick bite on the way back to the hotel after a long day which was helpful for our hungry kids that couldn't find what they wanted at the Christmas markets. Overall I couldn't recommend this hotel more, and would 100% stay again if we ever came back.
