The room was tiny, we stayed in two double rooms as a family of four but barely could move in the rooms. The location is great as it is close to the train station and underground. The staff were friendly and helpful and tried to accommodate us and help with the problems we faced. As we arrived upon check in we were told that the lift is not working but will be fixed in the next few hours, or by the time we go out and come back. Our rooms were on the fourth floor but one person there was going to carry all our luggage upstairs. We had five suitcases and 4 carry on bags. So we suggested to leave them at reception till the lift is fixed but they insisted to take them up. So my husband and son started helping the staff as we felt bad. We came back to the hotel and the lift was not fixed and actually needed a part, so it felt like we were lied to as i wouldn't have checked in if i had known that. We stayed two nights and it was so inconvenient to use the stairs every time. They gave us breakfast vouchers but i was so unhappy with them i did not even want to use that and we ate outside. Their breakfast is in an italian restaurant nearby so also not so convenient.

Our room was a very small box room, not enough room for 2 people sharing. They didn't serve breakfast in the hotel, they offered it at a restaurant half a mile away. The lifts were out of order so we had to use the stairs all the time. Our room was underneath some form of cupboard or store room that was constantly being used all night and kept us awake.

The staff were excelent and friendly. The room was very clean I wish we had been told we had paid for breakfast. We had forgot. So we never utilised the breakfasst service at the Italian cafe down the road for the 6 days. The front desk gave us 1 voucher for the first day so we assumed we only had one. When we looked at our reciept we had indeed paid for breakfast every day. This was disappointing.

Location perfect as we wanted to be close to the Paddington station The staff was very helpful. But apart from that not worth the money. Have used Booking. Com many times over the years, and really the first time I have been very disappointed. When we got there, we were told the elevator was broken!!!! Im in my 80’s and have knee issues. They gave us a room on the first floor but there were still 20 steps to climb. Also the room was much smaller than expected. The temperature of the water of the shower was Lukewarm… and that is a generous description.

The property benefits from a great location near Paddington station and access to a good number of bars and restaurants including little Venice Paddington. Good for a short stay. The property was under renovation, which is not mentioned prior booking. The property uses artistic license to present the rooms in photographs - customers will be very disappointed when seeing the property in reality - standard rooms are box rooms, it is difficult to accept this is a 4 star Hotel and is hugely overpriced. In addition, the lift broke down on the day we arrived, and the property had not fixed the lift 3 D later - we were on the 3rd floor - it made the property completely inaccessible to anyone with kids or elderly - it was bad enough for us. The murcure is in the same price bracket as the Hilton (across the street). I would strongly recommend paying a few hundred quid extra to stay at the Hilton.

Location Elevators were not working during full stay (4nights) and we had to carry our luggage bags to third and second floors up and down.
-
It was unfortunate that the lifts were out no order and wasn’t fixed on time. It was rather difficult to carry all our luggages (though the hotel staff helped) and walk up and down 3 floors

The water was shut off for over an hour as we were getting ready for bed (around 10:00 pm). There was no warning for this or any knowledge of how long it would last. We couldn't use the sink, shower, etc or flush the toilet. Reception communication was really poor and they couldn't tell us how long the water would be off for and tried offering us another room which isn't a solution as the whole hotel had the same issue.

Location is really good. Hotel is very clean. The elevator didn't work for at least the 3 days I was there. I booked this hotel only because of the elevator, as I was with my 80 year old mom. They gave me a room in the 3rd floor and as an after thought "Oh, the elevator is not working right now so you need to take the stairs". I understood it was not working "for the next few minutes" and my mom was not with me, but then it was never fixed. Not only my mom had to go up and down 3 floors several times, I also could not take my luggage upstairs. I talked to 4 different people in the Check In desk. All of them told me to talk to "the manager" who never showed up. Before checking in, they promised teh manager would get in touch with me and they never did. Also didn't respond to my follow up message. I understand that sometimes things don't work well. What matters is how you handle it and in this hotel, they could not care less.

The staff are quite friendly and helpful. The rooms are showing their age. Not the quality of facilities I have found at other Mercure and Novotel properties. Also, the breakfast included in the rate was down the street, apparently due to renovations going on at the time, but that was not a serious issue.

Breakfast is OK. Staff are nice . No lift is available . Room facilities are limited such as electricity socket near table , incomplete shower door :only one door causing wet , WC door opposite bed head that you can smell badly , no Bidet spray to use , flush toilet leak , carpet is dirty .
