Friendly staff, great location, good value

Perfectly situated if you want the train - and good neighbouring food too! Nothing. Just great.

We just did not feel safe in the surrounding areas. A lot of construction, a lot of noise and not very clean.

Convenient to train station. Beautiful old property with well appointed rooms. Enjoyed the historic photographs. It was unclear how to get to our room . Luckily a nice gentleman guest noticed our confusion and showed us the way.

The hotel is located directly across from the central station, so perfect for our needs. We only stayed one night as we had an early departure the next morning. If you plan to stay longer, it's super convenient as you can walk into town, the hop-on-hop-off busses are right across the street to and you have access to all trains. Everything was good. I personally wouldn't want to spend my entire holiday in this hotel but for a few nights it's perfect.

The central location, close to all public transport No air-conditioning and no fan in the room. The towels in bathroom are very very thin.

Location

Across the street from the train station made it perfect for our late arrival by train . Excellent breakfast, easy access to main sites, very helpful staff and clean, comfortable rooms and they were happy to store our luggage while we explored for the day. Sadly, because of its close proximity to the train station, the alley streets below our window were very noisy for the entire night. We had arrived after midnight having endured a 13 hour travel day from London. Even with the windows closed the noise was disruptive.

Breakfast is very good but a bit overprized! It is big a it can get, if you need to eat at lot, then it is worth it Rooms were a bit noisy and very very warm. They provided winter blanket for summertime which does not make sense

It was basic and suited what I needed, but I was expecting more based on the price and pictures. The location was right across from the train station. While it is conveniently located across the road from the train station, the immediate area felt unsafe with lots of people loitering. This also caused a lot of noise at night. Staff were abrupt and condescending when explaining how to get to my floor (you have to work your way around to the other side of the building to find the correct lift). I was also not told upon check in that keys needed to be left with reception every time you left the building so was yelled at on my way out and stopped. Customer service could be improved. Uncomfortable and old pillows that need to be replaced.

Beautiful old building close to good walking areas. Noise from street people due to windows open on a warm evening.

I booked with this hotel in two separate periods before Wacken and after it .. before I stayed in 2nd floor and everything was ok and after Wacken I stayed in 1st floor and it was so great because it was in same floor of every services like coffee machine and smoking area .. since I was so tired after Wacken and I didn’t need more movements and so much restaurants nearby and it front of Hauptbahnhof.. and in addition to all that they gave me ticket for using all BD transportation covers all rings of Hamburg .. stuff amazing and everything was good … and yes I found cold water beside coffee machine I didn’t know that in first period Actually no AC .. and didn’t find fan in room .. period of my stay yes it not needed so much .. but I think if hot weather there it will be so necessary
