Mclane Boutique Hotel

La ubicación es muy buena, muy central para visitar todos los puntos de interés de Georgetown. Hay un depósito por daños de alrededor de 50 euros, el cual es la primera vez que me cobran en Asia. El desayuno es muy básico y hay una sola persona cocinando y sirviendo lo cual lo hace muy demorado si coinciden varios huéspedes al tiempo.

HOTEL : 9/10 Top location in old quarter near to everything. Manager Erynn is a real treasure , so fruiendly, so helpful and always ensuring all is well and that guests are well cared for. Hotel building is classic yet modern in side , room has great aircon and fridge - comfy pillows . all in all great stay , and i'd not hestitate to stay again when in penang CAFE : 0/10 The "cafe" is dismal, and they should not associate with it. The coffe is the worst I ever had in my entire life, it looked like tea and tased like water , breafast too is a joke. Lets not even mention the "orange jouice" . Just dreadful. I had a full 7 baked beans (yes I counted" with my egg :) Thats all they give you ...Pathetic and staff are rude and dont care - total conrast to the Hotel staff.

The hotel is simple but has everything you need for a short stay, a laundry service (10rm) and free water refill options. Amazing location, excellent price.

I visited during the Chinese New Year. The area was quite loud, bit the windowless room was whisper quiet. Kudos to Eline, the cheerful and kind front desk person who gave me some excellent suggestions for places to visit and activities during the new year celebrations. All were spot on. She has a wealth of knowledge about Georgetown. In general, this is a very well-run hotel, and I had a nice stay. For anyone staying more than a few days, the limited breakfast choices got a little monotonous. But that's a small thing.

The female staff person on duty cheerfully greeted me and gave maps and information regarding local places. She also happily stored my luggage until check-in time. The buffet breakfast on Sunday was good. The room was very clean, the location was a short 15 minute walk from the ferry terminal, and laundry facilities were available. Note: washer and dryer each cost RM10 cash. The air conditioner was a bit weak and the restaurant nearby was a bit noisy.

The front of house staff were terrific. The room we had felt very claustrophobic.

My go-to place whenever I am in Penang! The staff, especially Elyn, are fantastic, are very helpful and hospitable. In an outstanding location between all the main districts of Georgetown and everything is within walking distance. Looking forward to my next visit.

Limited parking.

Great location, walkable and fantastic food within a few minutes walk. Air conditioned room with remote control was perfect and a step above some other accommodation in the area.

The receptionist is a sweetheart with full of information. The room was clean. Bathroom is unexpectedly big and clean. The rooms need repair. Wall paints are falling apart, sink stopper in bathroom was malfunctioning. Even they gave us a torn towel. When replaced it the fresh towel had very bad odor

Very bad, incredibly bad customer service. The receiption is not 24h as stated in booking.com. They are used to lock the reception window facade with wooden covers durring the night without preadvising the customers!!! Just 1 bell on the wall and a small plate to ring it in order to get in but no sound and no answer. No personnel at all durring the night. I arrived at arround 20:30h, tired and hungry. After moving to the second floor (trough small, wooden stairwell) my havy luggage, I found a room without windows. First, the reception guy Buvan, tried to explain that "this is the standard double room you booked". When I disagreed with no windows standard that was not mantioned in the booking, I had to wait more than an hour he to align with his managers by phone how to proceed. Meanwhile he served other nervious customers and I keep waiting. Afterwards getting too angree he make me talk to 2 of the managers, the first one saying that no windows info is missed because of booking.com fault and I have to accept the room and complain to them afterwards, call them now to negotiate or pay for another room?! The second one requested to send to him my booking confirmation to see than nothing for no windows is mantioned and eventually gave me a room on the fist floor (moving down my luggage) which bathroom door was locked when I just push it to close. Again 15 min tel calls how to open it and instruction to watch out not to close this door durring my stay. The reception guy Buvan, the only one on the reception is missing any manners, he cannot communicate properly in English but laughting instead even when he makes the customers angry. Eventually I gone out at arround 11p.m. to look for a diner. BUT the real SURPRISE is yet to come. One hour later, at midnight, i came back, a solo woman, and found the hotel facade closed with wooden covers having all my laggage, passport and money locked. Ringing the only bell with no ansrew.

Really small rooms. Maybe they have bigger rooms but mine had no place to sit except the bed. I'm also not a fan of the shower and toilet being the same space. No way to keep the toilet and floor dry.

The hotel is located in the heart of the city, surrounded by main attractions. The worst hotel for comfort. There is nothing inside the room except some wooden furniture. The room is very small and not worth the money paid. The air conditioning is terrible and does not cool the room. No ironing board or iron was provided, even though I booked both. The toiletries are not individually packaged, but instead placed in a common bottle where they mix with water and appear damaged. The information provided on the hotel page on booking.com contradicts the facilities provided. I believe the reviews for the hotel on the website are not genuine and are a hoax. Booking.com must take necessary steps to maintain standards, otherwise, travelers may boycott the website for booking hotels. It was a nightmare staying at this hotel.

Location was perfect. Staff were amazing, very helpful. Security guard was a bit rude though. My overall experience was so great, would definitely recommend it to others ?

Excellent location within walking distance to lots of food and landmarks. Service was very friendly and helpful. Room was very clean and comfortable.
