This is the second time we have stayed there, and have enjoyed both experiences. It is expensive, but it is also a special experience with all the work done to remodel the premises. We had a room with our bed in a top level with access to a nice patio with a good view, which we preferred to the earlier room that had the bed on the bottom floor. The breakfast is nice with a good selection, in an elegant room. They have a nice restaurant with good drinks. The location is great as well. And there is a pleasant pool and area. Our only complaint is that the lighting in the living room is weak, and it was difficult to read.

Beautiful boutique hotel, meticulously restored to reflect the Peranakan architecture. We got a large, very well appointed and comfortable, duplex room. The other highlight of the property is its location -- in the heart of Georgetown and walking distance to many of the key sites and buzzy streets. Given how hot and humid the afternoons were, we were really thankful that we could get back to the hotel quickly after lunch and rest. Check-in was a challenge. I had messaged the hotel indicating that we would be getting in between 11 and 11:30 pm. As per the address given on the hotel's website, the taxi driver dropped us in front of the hotel on Stewart Ln! It turned out that this was the back of the hotel and the lobby entrance was on the other side! There were no signs to direct the guests to the lobby entrance; neither were there any clear signs to direct the arriving guests to the bell concealed behind a door. After a lot of fumbling, we located the bell and the person at the night desk came over and opened the door. For a while, it was a stressful situation for us. I think this could have been easily solved by posting a more visible sign on the door indicating the location of the bell/lobby entrance or send a message to the guests prior to arrival with clear instructions. Please keep in mind that not all visitors have local or international phones to make calls to the hotel.

This is a wonderfully renovated refined old clan house, inhabited by the true Chinese-Malayan Spirits. The team is great, giving you a lot of good information about the many attractions and food places of George Town. A house to remember!

The food. Great restaurant on the premises. Room layout is great for families with the high ceiling and loft. Just enough privacy.Loved the period decor/furniture. Staff response time to requests was a bit erratic. Scaled breakfast options would be great--lighter fare, full breakfast.. Extra coffee capsules in the room would be nice.

Had a lovely stay at 7 terraces. It's in a nice location to walk around Georgetown. The room was beautifully restored and had all the facilities you'd need - comfy beds and even a nesspreso machine. There is a nice pool area too. The staff were very helpful when we needed a trip to a doctor. They showed great kindness that was very appreciated. We stayed in one of the apartments with 4 adults- there was a double and 2 single beds (upstairs) it was spacious and comfortable with a nice little roof terrace. Sometimes these kinds of places can feel a little stuffy, but not here. The staff were so friendly. It has a lift to the 2nd floor - but be mindful there are steps here and there due to the age of the property.

Very roomy 1 bedroom apartment in the Argus wing. There is a large sitting room downstairs with a large bathroom, the bedroom is upstairs with a balcony and separate toilet. All staff were nice, the reception people were always smiling, I think one of the receptionists was called Jolon as she was very helpful. There was a set menu breakfast with about 5 items on it which was very nice. The hotel is in a quiet street but still close enough to many restaurants and other types of eating venues. Some people might find the internal staircase to the bedroom a bit steep.

The location is perfect to explore the historical area of Georgetown. It is a very unique old hotel with beautiful architectural style. Staff friendly and welcoming. TV reception is poor. Shower head is too high.

We loved the traditional design and antique furnishings in this historic "Nyonya" style building. It was in a quiet back road in a central location with lots of cafés and restaurants nearby. After walking through busy and hot Georgetown, it felt like coming back to a calm, cool sanctuary. The staff were very friendly, happy to chat and helpful. There was a lot of attention to detail with the antique room decor, but the cheap plastic bins didn't fit in. Due to the old building and the way the bathroom was added, the hand shower was in an odd location. Cleanliness in the bathroom could have been better. We loved our stay at the Seven Terraces!

Seven Terraces was quite a special place to stay. The heritage vibe is quite lovely but it wouldn't mean much without the staff - everyone was so welcoming, friendly and helpful. The room was the terraced duplex suite, Stewart St side, bed downstairs, living room and single bed upstairs. It's a luxurious space to retreat to in the hottest part of the day - and a pool downstairs with free tea and snacks in mid afternoon. The hotel has done a fantastic job of updating the rooms with mod cons (including two aircon units, multi plug and USB sockets) while preserving the old world charm. The location is fantastic, right in the heart of the old town - a short walk to so many delicious restaurants Including the hotel's restaurant Kebaya) and an easy Grab ride everywhere else. I was concerned the room might get a bit loud, being on the Stewart St side with an open air bar around the corner, but there's wooden shutters and then doors between the bathroom and the bed and it was all surprisingly quiet. I even fell asleep in the middle of fireworks. Nothing
