Marta and Osama are both super sweet, interesting, and caring hosts. They have several animals - a lovely old black dog and a whole bunch of cats - who are all adorable. Their garden opens out onto the Nile, where you can go for a swim. They offer you to borrow their kayaks. They have two levels of roof deck to enjoy a cold drink and soak up the sun. They serve alcoholic beers. They offer homemade Italian and Egyptian dishes, but you have to order in advance. The room had a guide for all useful information for our stay and restaurants, monuments, etc. in the local area. Wifi worked fine. You must pay for the room and any food/drinks in cash. They accept USD and EGP. Room has a fan and AC and a fridge with water bottles in it.

Clean cozy and have protection from the mosquito Need to mention the shower is not that strong, also u need to take slippers, toothpaste and brush, and better shampoo with body lotion to have a good stay. These days the island can be cold at 5 am but hot when u get asleep.

I stayed 9 days and consider it the best stay I had during a month long trip. The room was well designed for travelers and EVERYTHING worked. The wifi was strong, the food was good, the area was peaceful, the view was tremendous, transportation to the east bank was simple and cheap. Osama and Marta were great hosts and very helpful. The narrow, windy, dusty paths on which you walk to get anywhere were a little intimidating at first but it only took me a day or so to get the hang of it.

Staff helpful Location and view are good Easy to get on and off the island by ferry

The apartment is great - but that's not the important thing here. The hosts, Marta and Osama, make this place feel more like a family home. Lovely hosts! The apartment is on Elephantine island. No cars, no bikes, no tuk-tuks. Just dirt paths and the very occasional donkey transporting goods. So, its a great place to visit to get away from it all. The island is very 'laid back'. No hassle at all. You get across to Aswan via a small public ferry. It's very convenient. Osama makes breakfast every morning. A lovely breakfast to start the day - bread, jam, white cheese, tomato, cucumber, yoghurt and tea or coffee. But, who cares? Because it is Osama's beaming smile and warm welcome that make the day. Oh yeah - and the fact that you are eating breakfast on the rooftop overlooking the Nile. I would recommend this place to my friends and family. Nothing

Loved the location, ambience, staff, comfortable bed and very clean. More choice for breakfast would have been good. Good restaurants nearby.

Nubian Lotus is a wonderful place and family. Everything was perfect, the view is spectacular, the room was great for our family of 4. We sat out on our balcony with wine that you can buy and was astonished with our view of the desert, nile, and botanical gardens. The family made sure we had the best recommendations and even coordinated with our tour guide. We would highly recommend taking their package of being picked up at the airport and taking their private boat to arrive right at their pier it was a surreal experience.

Peaceful hillside location on the quiet side of Elephantine overlooking the Botanic Garden island across the river. Lovely hosts. Osama arranged transport and a wonderful fellucca ride. Marta made delicious pasta. We felt well taken care of. Our simple room was very clean and thoughtfully furnished including fridge, electric kettle, and a small kitchen sink. I missed a shelf in the bathroom for toiletries.

Nice property on Elephantine Island. We enjoyed the view and walking about. Breakfast was unsatisfactory. Bread was stale, foul was cold and boiled egg was over cooked. Also, the chairs on the veranda could use some cushions. Also, items for purchase, like water were highly over priced, more than a 5 star hotel! A 2 minute walk we could purchase our needs for a fraction of the price.

Wonderful Nile front location on Elephant Island. Excellent local breakfast. Very simple so a bit pricey for what it was. Extra services, ie taxi transport very expensive. Very nice owner. A lot of cats which I liked, but some people might not. I definitely saw a flea in my room. Steps up from landing very poor and hard to negotiate. Overpriced journey to Airport.

Marta & Osama are the most heartwarming and kind hosts. We loved our 2-night stay, and couldn’t have asked for a better experience on Elephantine Island.

We loved everything about it. The nice friendly and helpful people who own it - Marta and Osama. They were very helpful to show us around the village and to prepare a breakfast box for early morning. We loved their cats and Kiki the dog. Osama, teaching us a few Nubian words. The beautiful building and the amazing view. The cozy room, spotless clean, including linen. Most comfortable bed during our trip to Egypt so far. And a bidet in the bathroom ? (thank you Marta). Overall a charming little place in a small Nubian village. I wish we had booked a longer stay.
