15 minutes before checking-in, we received an email from Astoria saying that the hotel is actually under renovation and they have moved our reservation to another hotel of theirs - Maek Hotel. It was nice that as least the hotel was close to Astoria, but still, it was weird that we only heard about that few minutes prior to the check-in. That felt unprofessional and unreliable. The hotel they moved us to was not satisfactory. The staff at the reception was a bit rude and acted in some entitled way, which was totally unnecessary. The room was spacious, but was not very clean. The bathroom walls and tiles were barely cleaned - there were stains and hair stick from previous guests. There were some chairs in the room that looked absolutely disgusting - with stains all over them. The carpet floor seemed not clean at all. That was quite disappointing. Generally, wouldn't reccommend booking Astoria or that Maek hotel of theirs.

It was old but that was what made the room also cozy. Breakfast was tasty. The shower head was broken so there was barely any water, and I had to ask twice before it got fixed. The breakfast room was big and cold and not very cozy, but the food was tasty.

The location, staff , the room itself super clean, big bathrooms, toiletries, beds, peaceful environment being in the central location. Everything close by. Couldn’t have asked for more. A bottle of water in the room could have been an icing on the cake.

Convenient location. close to City Centre. First room had not been cleaned, bed was unmade and had been slept in. This was reported immediately and my room was changed but the second room did not have any working heating and only one working light by the bedside leaving the room very dark. over all the rooms are not hygienic and even though I have complained to the hotel directly they have done close to nothing to compensate me for such a bad experience. An 'offer' was made in the morning which expired before I could even see or open the email to view what they had proposed. That is their only attempt at making this right.

Dark room at night. All good.

By quality wise I will suggest this hotel, even the entrance door itself broken when we were there.

One of the best things is that it's walkable from Antwerp Centraal train station, which is very convenient. The place itself is tucked in the middle of the diamond district, the rooms, the interior, and the building gives an old property look, which I don't have an opinion on personally. The staff was welcoming, the place was clean, that's all I expected.

Was like something out of the USSR, I feared for my safety.

The apartment was not clean and the staff was quite old and sometimes broken. The smell in the room was not nice. But you cannot open the window, so I can understand the smell... The bed was old and not comfy. I took a few photos, so you can see yourself.

The breakdast and the location are good. The room is very old and has many problems. The faucet is loose, two lights didn’t work, and several things are in very bad condition.

Great location, good comfy room and very friendly and helpful staff (although they seem a bit understaffed and very busy). Nice big window for natural light, and the croissants served in the breakfast are great. Apart from some stains on the carpet, the room was clean.

Room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. Bathroom could do with updating though

Room doors make too much noise when they are released to close. BANG, BANG, BANG, all night long
