Croparadise Hostel

​I honestly don’t know where to start with this place. ​On the positive side, the location is absolutely fantastic and very close to the main attractions. The daytime staff were also genuinely nice and pleasant to deal with. Sadly, that is where the compliments end. ​Let's talk about the bathroom. I am convinced it was designed by and for Minions. It is so microscopically small that you effectively do not have the physical clearance required to wipe your own backside. To make matters worse, the urinal unit was completely blocked from day one, leaving the entire bathroom smelling like a public underpass. ​However, the real grand finale happened on our last night. Because there is absolutely zero staff on-site overnight, the place turns into the Wild West. We woke up to a drunk guest from another room wandering into our middle room and using the floor as his personal toilet. ​If you want a great location and don't mind navigating miniature, smelly bathrooms and dodging rogue daytime drinkers marking their territory in your living space, this is the spot for you. Otherwise, look elsewhere. Moving on to the bedroom, the bed was so profoundly uncomfortable. It was also literally missing structural parts. ​Then there was the kettle. I wanted a cup of tea, but the inside was coated in a layer of limescale so thick it probably dates back to the Diocletian era. I wasn't sure whether to boil water in it or hand it over to a museum of ancient history. ​And finally, to reiterate: the bathroom is so small that if you accidentally sneeze, you’ll probably end up hitting your head on the opposite wall while simultaneously flushing the toilet with your knee.

This was a terrific place to stay in Split. The staff were very friendly, even though we were their last group for the season. The apartments were pretty spacious and comfortable, except for the temperature, which got quite cold at night when the windows were open. The location is perfect for visiting the Old Town. I don't have anything to complain about, really.

The bathrooms were very tiny. Im a bigger guy so I was fighting the wall in the bathroom, tiny shower. The sink had a leak so when the faucet is turned on a decent amount of water came out from the bottom leading to wet socks. The bathroom also smelled like urine. Other than that it was great

There’s no shower head holder. There’s no range hood in the kitchen.

My only suggestion is that it should be made VERY clear that there are times where lights should be off and people are required to be quiet. There is no night staff and some people are very inconsiderate and don’t respect rules at all. This is an issue at all hostels, I am afraid. Luckily most people are considerate.

Perfect location, super clean, staff was really polite and helpful.

Not suitable for solo female travelers, didnt feel confortable in a mixed bedroom with 3 men and decided to check out 2 nights earlier. The check in office is in an outside building, the hostel feels like it has no one looking after it, I saw the guys walking in underwear and taking over the kitchen table playing cards and drinking. Not a good environment for a female traveler at all!

Accommodation was sufficient for what I needed.

No bunk beds. large, private lockers with keys. Quiet. Air conditioner only had one temperature no matter what the setting…cold. But they gave you blankets if you chose to turn it on.

Strikt check in times = not possible to check in before 3pm but possible to leave luggage. Lock on door wasn't working properly but I'm sure it'll be fixed soon.

We had a wonderful time staying in the Croparadise Hostel. They were incredibly helpful, they went out of their way to make us comfortable. After realizing we were a large group, they kindly arranged for us to be closer together. The apartments were even better in person than in the photos. Everything was clean and well-maintained. Thank you for our lovely stay!

Very close to the old city and only about a 10 minute walk from the ferry, bus, and train stations. Staff were friendly! There's an overall "dingy" feel to the place: while it clearly gets basic cleaning, it needs a real deep clean to get out the stains and scuff marks on the walls, rust off metal fixtures, and grime out of hard-to-reach (but quite visible) corners. It's clear the photos of the property are of the best rooms/bathroom, but our room looked and felt very different. And for the price of the room, we expected it to feel more comfortable. We had a really bad first impression when arriving at night. Maybe some better lighting around the reception area would help? While the location is convenient, my female partner wouldn't have felt safe walking in the neighborhood alone after dark. It feels strangely dead despite the proximity to the old town and the tall apartments all around, and the street lighting is dim but harsh. Things felt a little better during the day. The hostel is spread among a few properties. The reception is down the street from the building in which we stayed, which appeared to be in a converted, older apartment. We were in a suite of three private rooms sharing a common bathroom, kitchen, and balcony. There wasn't much of a common area shared by the whole hostel, so there's less of a social vibe than other places we've stayed, and it combines with the other factors I mentioned to create an overall feeling of isolation.

Location Being woken up by a neighbor banging on the door to get in. I think furniture could be arranged better to create a little more space.
