Dating from 1878, Altstadt Hotel Hofwirt is right next to Linzer Gasse, a pedestrian zone in the center of Salzburg. The Congress Center, Mirabell Palace and the historic Getreidegasse are all within a 10-minute walk. Free WiFi is available. Hotel Hofwirt’s rooms are all nonsmoking and air-conditioned. Nothing! Overly priced, rude staff (cleaning people were shouting making it impossible to sleep) , very small rooms considering how much was paid, slow internet, and no extra amenities for the price paid. Was charged after the affect for my dog considering all employees saw him and then blamed me for not mentioning it. I did mention when I made the reservation that I was traveling with a dog. Lastly, due to the how displeased I was of the stay, wanted to check-out one day early, but they would not grant this. The only thing I got in return was two free drinks and paying more money. Would not recommend this place at all. It was a shame since my husband and I were on our honeymoon.

The breakfast which was included in the price was great, lots of choices, always kept well stocked. The position on the edge of the old town was fantastic! The staff were attentive and friendly The bathroom was quite small.

Pre visit communication was excellent. Good breakfast. Nice unexpected welcome gift. Price was inflated hugely due to sport and music event. The room was small.

Breakfast was adequate When we went to bed on first night there was two brown stains on sheet which were very noticeable. Can't understand how staff didn't see it? One between pillows and other around middle of bed. Not a very good start as Hotel is expensive . Got bed sheets changed next day.
