I didnt have the breakfast included, we chose not to, and it was good since we had early morning tours. On the first night we also dined in the hotel and the food was marvelous. The hotel was a little empty, but it was January, after the Jubilee and Harry's bar on the corner was closed until January 19th, so I am sure the activity picked up after we left. There was nothing I didnt like. The staff were marvelous and the room was beautiful.

The building is beautiful, location is good. The checkin process was not smooth, we have asked to present credit card, also they didn’t see the payment which was already done, this made extra stress which was not expected.

The hotel has a faded grandeur that is still apparent despite the lack of renovation in subtle details like the chandeliers even in the bathrooms. We had two rooms and there was welcome fruit and chocolates in one and a complimentary bottle of wine in the other. That was a nice touch. The lobby area is grand too. My son had forgotten his swim goggles and the hotel was able to provide a pair when he went down to the pool. Value for money is not good in Rome especially around Christmas, and this hotel epitomises the problem. There was no espresso machine in the room, also no kettle. The most basic toiletries were absent like cotton buds. Shampoo was not replaced when finished. No shoe horn. No shoe polish. The TV was outdated and tiny. On checkout we were billed for someone else's breakfast, but this was quickly amended In short, this hotel looks great from outside, but disappoints significantly at this price within. Our
