staff and location breakfast buffet

Location, great breakfast, authentic and traditional looking (so much character and design), AC, own washroom and elevator. If you’re looking for a hidden quiet & safe hotel in the heart of Prague this is it! When I arrived, the room smelled heavily of air freshener. When it wore off, the room had been heavily smoked in. It was in the walls, linens etc. I couldn’t stay in the room another night. When I told staff, they said it was from the cafe Nextdoor that the smoke had sept in and to open a window. I said there’s a lot more smoke than that, and that someone had smoked in the room. They then proceeded to tell me I was accusing their staff of smoking in the room. Which I didn’t. Then they downgraded me to a smaller room with no compensation. The smaller room was clean and smoke free and by this point, I just wanted to sleep in clean sheets and rest after a long trip. At the end of my stay they offered me 10% back for my troubles. I didn’t appreciate the accusation and downgrade. Very unfortunate as it could have been handled differently. But I did love the location, look and feel of the hotel. It was exactly what I was looking for.

Helpful staff and nice touches

Front Desk Staff: Julie at the front desk was very nice, welcoming, and helpful. Location: The hotel is located in a quiet neighborhood away from the hustle and bustle of restaurants, yet it is still conveniently close to Old Town. AC: The room had individually controlled AC, which was appreciated. The Room & Bathroom: Both were extremely small. The bathroom had a tiny shower, and the provided shampoo and conditioner were so cheap and old that they actually gave off a very bad smell. The Breakfast: Highly disappointing and very poor quality. The food felt like recycled, cafeteria-style food. The eggs tasted old, and the ladies working the breakfast area disappeared and failed to restock the food for long periods of time. Noise Levels: The hotel is old, loud, and has zero soundproofing. Anytime anyone moves around in the hallway, it echoes clearly inside your room, making it nearly impossible to get a good night's sleep. The Bed: The bed and mattress were very old, worn out, and incredibly uncomfortable. The TV: The television was so small they might as well just remove it from the room entirely. Night Watchman: The night watchman on duty was horrible and completely unprofessional.

Location, charm Small accommodations. Ie bathrooms/shower etc.

They keep the atmosphere the old fashion way, It invites you to feel that you're on that years. Amazing!!!!! Everything was excellent!!!!!

Only location This room was in the attic with no windows. There is one skylight in the ceiling. It was suffocating. There was a bug flying inside the room. At night I can hear conversations from next room and couldn’t sleep till late. It was bad room walls. Bathroom shower was very small. We can barely move.

The hotel is very classy! Amazingly stylish place! Everything is neat and clean, and any need is tended to. It is situated in the Old Town in a close proximity to the center of it with Orloj and the main old town square (10 min by foot). Charles Bridge is like 20 min away, but that didn't bother us too much. Breakfast is good and has many options, free coffee in the lobby 24/7 (yes, that was important for us :D), comfy spatial beds, towels, bathrobes - everything you might need. Staff (except the one I will mention below) is very welcoming, helpful and there for any question we had. Special thanks to the receptionist who checked us in and out and worked day shifts - you are an angel. The only reason why I gave this hotel 9 out of 10 is because of a few things. First, we had an issue with the AC. The hotel doesn't let you use it during winter, meaning the remote in the room was not working. BUT AC can be turned on from the front desk, and we asked for this option during the first night to warm the room up a little, because it was cold for us. And then at 6 AM the next day all of a sudden AC is turned on by itself again ON COLD (mind you, its winter outside). And on the last day of our stay the AC had turned itself on AGAIN (this time on warm). And I am aware we were not the only ones to have this issue. So, basically, AC central system lives its own life and should be fixed. Second, one particular night shift staff member at the reception on Wednesday and Thursday of our stay. I don't know his name (a man in his 50-60th, probably). The night we called about the cold AC he was very rude and said that the day before he gave us A FAVOR by turning AC on to warm our room (which is like WTF?!). After a short unpleasant convo he just disconnected from the line. I called again and got an irritated response that we should wait and cold AC will turn off in couple of minutes. I waited, nothing happened and then I called again - and he didn't even pick up the phone! I was about to go down myself but then AC turned off finally and we went to finish our disrupted sleep. But this person was pretty rude overall, not only during this AC issue, like he doesn't like to be there and doesn't want to talk to people. That tarnished our overall experience by a lot.

Perfectly located and exceptionally well run, our stay was effortless from start to finish. The service was outstanding—attentive, welcoming, and genuinely helpful. Our rooms were comfortable, spotless, and thoughtfully appointed, and having two rooms that were both equally excellent was especially appreciated. Breakfast was delicious and a great way to start each day. We would absolutely stay here again.

Great location in Old Town so close to everything. Old school charm and helpful staff. Decent breakfast, wine for free and coffee/hot chocolate station. Room was small but well appointed so everything you need. I stayed in a single which was perfect for solo traveler. Central heat so can get a little warm in the room but nothing cracking a window can’t solve.

This was our second stay at this hotel, and even though it was only for one night, everything was just as wonderful as last time. The staff is lovely and helpful, the rooms are clean, the breakfast is very good and the location is great. It’s our favorite hotel in Prague.
