A lot of great things about this hotel. First, the building is so historic and cool, it's worth staying there just for that. The location is perfect for walking everywhere. The staff is amazing, super helpful and cheerful. The attached restaurant is great! I would definitely stay again. The only downside for me is something the hotel cannot help. Noise. The streets of Georgetown are very busy all night and the constant sound of loud traffic is annoying. If you're a light sleeper, it'll be a problem.

It's a 123 year old (1903) historical hotel, which we love, and it has been well upgraded in areas that matter for todays expectations (bathroom, shower and aircon.) Superbly maintained, but still retains its 123 year old character, charm and ambience. Extremely well located, in a quiet location, but minutes only to everything we wanted, and a Michelin star Italian restaurant co-located on ground floor adjoining We only stayed two nights, would have loved more

A/C broke down, put me in a smaller uncomfortable room and did not refund for the failure. Granted the hotel was full - so what - Management

The staff was so very friendly. Every night a “goodie” was in the room and the bed was turned down The shower water wasn’t hot enough

Very friendly staff attended to all requests We stayed in Blossum room just above reception . Quite nosy at night when guests returned to accommodation. Road noise was generally high. We had to use ear plugs to mitigate noise. The building is very traditional which meant there are more rules than normal accommodation. May not suit all guests.

Comfortable and clean boutique hotel. Staff was attentive, helpful, eager to make the stay enjoyable. Main areas were warm and not air conditioned. Rooms were well supplied with air conditioning and comfortable.

Beautifully maintained historic property with an outstanding staff! From the moment we arrived, we were well taken care by the managers Diana and Andrea! We were welcomed with a beverage and lots of fabulous information about what to see and where to go to explore the great city of Georgetown including maps with highlighted info. Communication was great even before we arrived so that they could best plan for our arrival. Diana gave us a tour of the property and our room which was beautiful! The bed and shower were perfect. Andrea made sure our luggage got hoisted up the stairs and to the room and made sure we were well taken care of in the restaurant. The Michelin star restaurant on site was fabulous and our server Joy was great! Breakfast was also very good! The whole staff at the Campbell house was exceptional and we would highly recommend anyone interested in the area to stay there. Also, the location was wonderful! Thank you for helping us create a beautiful memory in George Town, Malaysia! Everything was great!

Loved the location of this boutique hotel. You could walk everywhere. Each room is different which adds to the charm, love the architecture. Beds were comfortable, pillows were a little flat. Room was nice and big. Loved the complimentary dessert each evening! Staff was exceptional. Would stay again. The only downside was our room was right next to the guest terrace, every time someone opened and closed that door, it made our door vibrate...as well, it could get quite noisy if there were people socializing out there. Thankfully that was only one night during our stay. If you want total quiet I would ask not to stay in that room.

Great building, full of character, none of the cookie-cutter design and furnishings. Staff was very personable and helpful, especially Diana, who went over the maps to highlight the points of interest and best of foods! Guess due to the impressive ceiling height in my stately room, the AC felt a little tired at the end of the day - but as the night brought some cooler air, I still slept very comfortably.

My original booking was one day short of my planned stay. The hotel contacted me when a room opened up, and they even arranged my stay so that I did not have to move the rooms - whst a diferentseeritud that made!

The property is very well maintained. The location is excellent, right in the heart of George Town. Airport transfer services is very smooth.

An old colonial style building filled with charm, situated in an amazing location. Every room has its own name, here you’re not just a number. All the staff are super friendly and welcoming and the place feels like a real home away from home. Special shoutout to Kumar for the George Town 101 and securing us a room with a bath (amazing bath btw!) Breakfast in the Michelin awarded restaurant downstairs is very nice, and although the selection is simple, every request is made fresh and sets you up for the day. The AC had a bit of a funky smell, maybe time to clean these? Also not the best hotel if you have mobility issues, the only way up and down is via some rickety old stairs, which could pose a challenge for some.

A bit noisy at night.

The staff were exceptional! They mapped out areas for us to visit and get around town. Every evening they had a complimentary homemade dessert for us as well as a carafe of lemon tea and fresh water in our refrigerator. There is a beautiful terrace on the top floor and a library on the 2nd floor. The breakfast was the best ever! They even packed us a to go breakfast when we had to leave early for a flight. It was excellent! I can’t say enough about this great hotel! The doorway was small but quaint.

In the heart of historic Georgetown is the quaint boutique property The Campbell House. We loved our stay! Greeted every day with a big smile and so much hospitality by the staff, especially Andy and Kumar! Service and cuisine in the restaurant top notch! Huge room very comfortable with lots of character. We loved the library and terrace for coffee and reading/napping after walking all around Georgetown. So many great places close by and the staff at The Campbell House won't steer you wrong!

This is a perfect hotel to choose for your central Penang access! The restaurants, shops and fruit stands are all around the hotel. You must give it a try. There are only a few rooms inside the hotel building, and you have a public library study on the 2nd floor, which is awesome! Nothing that I did not like

The property itself is beautiful, with lots of old charm and convenient amenities. The staff was friendly and the location was perfect. The sweet treat surprise at night was a thoughtful touch! The smoked salmon breakfast and coffee wasn’t great, but the fruit was fresh.

The welcoming and friendly staff is the best part of my stay, from the receptionists who recommended me local food to eat for almost every meal, to Mr. Lin who is like a loving Chinese uncle who gave me rec for Durian and always wanted to make sure I felt comfortable with the temperature in the lounge area, to the staff at the Italian restaurant who remembered which wine I enjoyed the night before. I enjoyed the interior decor and layout of the hotel too, as well as the complimentary fresh ice tea and desserts given to me daily in my fridge. NA
