The bed was comfortable, and the blackout curtains were extremely effective. The shower pressure was great, and we really liked that the toiletries were from Nuxe. We also appreciated the water refill machine in the lobby. The room's air conditioning worked well, which is a must in Paris summers, so that was nice too. The location is very convenient if you’re using public transport, with the metro station basically right across the road. There are also quite a few nice restaurants and places to eat within easy walking distance, and a pharmacy right next door. Also an easy Uber pickup spot. Unfortunately, the area seems to have become more unsafe, but so has most of Paris, it seems. The room itself is fine if you’re mainly looking for somewhere to sleep and don’t plan on spending much time there, but it is very small. If you have large suitcases, it could be quite difficult to move around comfortably. We only had hand luggage and already found the limited space a little frustrating. Unfortunately, there was also a strange, musty smell in our room, almost like the inside of an old cupboard or a room that hadn’t been opened or aired out in a long time. There were also a surprising number of LED lights all facing the bed, which were quite distracting at night, especially because the room gets so dark with the blackout curtains and there's no way to switch them off. Unfortunately, when we arrived, the room we were originally assigned wasn’t ready, so we were moved to another one. The view from our window looked directly into an old, rather dirty alleyway. We obviously weren’t expecting a balcony or a beautiful view, so this wasn’t a major issue, but it was still a little off-putting.

The view was good and the staff was responsive. The air-conditioning leaked because it was very hot and the air was wet.

Staff were very friendly and always helpful. When I asked to switch rooms because the first one smelt musty because of damp, they did it straight away without fuss. The first room we were given had some damp and smelt very musty. Luckily we could switch rooms as my husband and son are both asthmatic so the damp would have exacerbated this and we wouldn’t have been able to stay there.
