The room was a decent size with a full kitchen. The pool was big and liked that there was an inside pool as well. For the price we paid, i thought the room would’ve been cleaner. The one cover under the TV was completely covered in dust like it hadn’t been cleaned for MONTHS. I took my flip flops off as soon as we got into the room and my feet were covered in sand like nobody swept/mopped properly and the bath tub didn’t drain. I had to get water from the sink to rinse the tub out in order to be able to give my 7m old a bath so she didn’t stay covered in dirt/sand.

Room was spacious, balcony was very big, pool area was nice Cleanliness, friendliness of the staff (especially some of the front desk staff), overall upkeep of the property (lobby ceiling leaking entire stay) and one of the room AC units did not work properly. Another downfall to this property was having to pay for parking and the parking that was offered was not the greatest.

Like the location, excellent access to boardwalk The ceiling had quite a bit of mold.. the staff was nice and cleaned it that evening, but yuk. The ceiling by the elevators in the lobby was also leaking. They had buckets on the floor to catch the water. The side door was broken to exit the lobby also. Just needed a little more maintenence and would have given a better rating

What we liked about the property was the location. And we have stayed there twice a year for the past three years. We didn’t like having a room that still had sand on the floor when we checked in. We didn’t like having a shower that had a missing shower curtain and for some reason was not noticed by housekeeping before checking, and wasn’t replaced until I said something. We didn’t like that this year we had to pay for parking. There are many hotels that offer free parking and I’m not sure why private parking for the hotel requires a charge. I luckily was able to receive comp’d parking but why is this necessary? This will cause me to switch hotels if I have to pay for parking.

The Commander is right off on the Boardwalk at a great location.. It also has rooms in the back of that are really great they have a full kitchen and are spacious. The parking lot is easily accessible. So we always leave our beach stuff (wagon, coolers, toys etc) in the car, grab it in the morning on the way to the beach. The hotel is clean, the rooms are clean as well. The staff is very friendly. Should you need anything there is either someone in the hallway or at the desk. The beds and pillows are very comfortable. We really enjoy our stays at the Commander! Water pressure in the shower could be better but overall not a big deal. The hotel could provide a small broom in each room. We always bring/buy one. To be expected, the sand is everywhere. A quick sweep solves it. None of these things are deal breakers we love the hotel! The one thing we think is that parking should not cost so much per day. We are already spending a bit to stay at the hotel, to play for parking as well seems excessive.

Hotel was in a great convenient location near the Boardwalk, great area of beach, chair and tent setup location, by ice cream, donuts, and bakery restaurant. Has great views of the ocean! I thought it had ease of parking but what really pissed me off was that parking was charged as extra besides the cost of the stay. This hotel doesn't offer coffee, or breakfast, or parking apparently, so be aware! I was also bothered by the long but narrow rooms so for a family of 4, it felt tighter than most rooms. Benefit was the kitchenette in the room. Beds were small and extremely uncomfortable and the room ac wasn't cool enough so made sleeping tough. The ac unit would leak onto the balcony with a leaking noise and made it seem dirty and unsafe as that cant be good to be happening on concrete long term. We stayed a few hotels down at the Hyatt Place a few years ago and now after no breakfast, no free included parking as I thought, and no super convenient lobby, no coffee, no convenient access to the pool etc, I would recommend the Hyatt Place more than the Commander. Workable for a vacation on a budget but if you're looking for more conveniences, dont choose the Commander.

The location was great, right on the boardwalk. The rooms were very spacious and clean. All the staff was great and very friendly. Parking was $20 a day.

The balcony to the “Cabana room”was ok. When I think Cabana I was expecting being right on the beachfront. The main hotel had better views, and less expensive rooms . I paid the price for the Cabana room expecting so much more.
