Hotel Riu Palace Pacifico - Adults Only - All Inclusive

The lack of communication when checking in, never once was explained about the elite club and was given incorrect information about the restaurants.

The food quality was good generally. I liked the big sun shades by the pools. The Italian restaurant had a buffet ( I could have gone to the buffet) and I felt rushed there even though the restaurant had many empty tables. The steakhouse indoors was hot with poor air conditioning. The bed was too soft. Due to the time of year, the pool water was a little too warm, It would have been nice to have a small cold plunge in the spa.

I like people in the White night, My husband and I got sick to our stomachs; we ate fish in sauce, which made my husband very ill—he was vomiting and had diarrhea. The fish made me sick as well; we had both eaten the same thing. Our children didn't get sick because they didn't eat that fish. We called a doctor to the room—they offer that service—and he charged us 6,000 pesos for medications that you can buy at Farmacias Similares for less than 500 pesos. It’s a rip-off. I’ve been sick for 15 days. Service was only available at a few restaurants; my children wanted to go to the steakhouse, which requires a reservation—even though they disguise it as a "waiting list." The facilities were very good, but it’s a shame about the poor-quality food and drinks; the piña coladas were very low-grade. Sad, sick, and disappointed

Visited this property for the first time earlier this month. We visit PVR two to three times a year (25+ times in total) and have stayed in both AI resorts and condo complexes all over Banderas Bay. There is a lot to like about the Riu Palace Pacifico. It’s bright, fresh and modern, and the entire property is spotlessly clean. The staff is excellent, as they are at so many resorts, working hard and often going the extra mile. Examples include (but are not limited to) Julian at the buffet, Junior at the front desk, Luigi at the sports bar, and Lalo and Maribel at the Elite Club beach area. The food is decent, overall, and quite good in some of the specialty restaurants including the Asian, the Italian and the Elite Club. Other positives include the nightly entertainment, the quality of the beach, and the flat, smooth ocean floor free of rocks/coral (no water shoes needed). There are beach vendors but access to the resort is controlled, and they do not solicit to the point of annoyance. The temperature of the ocean was a welcome relief from the heat but unfortunately, the same cannot be said of the three pools at this property. All of them are heated to the temperature of bathwater – or worse. You can debate the need to heat pools in tropical climates to begin with, but when you have three pools, why heat them all to the same temperature???? Why not leave one unheated (or maintained at a much cooler temperature) to give your guests a choice??? And then there is the swim-up bar, which isn’t built at the end of a large, main pool like at most resorts; at the Riu, the swim-up bar is its own smaller pool and unsurprisingly, between the hot water and the fact hardly anyone gets out to use the bathroom, some days it reeked of urine when you walked by. Guests call it “the pee pee pool.” To call it disgusting would be charitable. Finally, the chair-saving game is in full force at this resort. There are signs forbidding it, but the resort lacks the courage to enforce its own rules.

Breakfast was incredible—honestly, the buffet/restaurants may have been the best part of our stay. Everything served was delicious, and the variety was outstanding. Every bite (of breakfast/lunch/dinner) was amazing, and it truly felt like we were eating like a king and queen every day at Riu. We tried each restaurant on the property, and every single one had its own unique, beautifully presented, and flavorful experience. The food across the board was absolutely wonderful. On top of that, the beach, ocean, and pool were all phenomenal. Everything about Riu felt luxurious and exceeded our expectations. We’ve been to numerous all-inclusive resorts in Mexico, and Riu is easily one of our top experiences—if not our number one. Thank you, Riu, and a huge thank you to the staff and culinary teams. We absolutely loved our stay and will definitely be back! :) Nothing. We found everything to be great.

Great location on big easy to walk beach. Swim up pool was great. Entertainment nightly right there. Friendly staff. Room very comfortable. Lots of varieties of restaurants and loved the lobby coffee bar. Nice having the 2 different pools and the chairs on the beach. Loved the Friday night neon party! Food was average and could step up a notch. Good variety but quality good not great.

Great food and service. Exceptionally clean. Plenty of lounge chairs, tables and chairs. Not crowded but perhaps that was because resort was only 60% occupancy More washrooms. Only one in lobby and one down stairs from restaurants and half way between lobby and beach.

Great staff Very poor , limited food. Specialty restaurants closed 3/4 of stay. Food was mediocre at best. Rooms were clean but definitely need an upgrade. Not what you would expect in a 4 1/2 start resort

Clean great food and staff The bed was horrible. It was so soft and there was no opportunity to change to firmer mattress as they said they were all the same. Very poor choice for this amazing location

Beautiful setting, comfortable rooms, friendly, professional staff. Beach was fantastic and sunsets spectacular Good at some restaurant not great. We recommend Italian, Mexican and Buffet and the Sports Bar.

The hotel was stunning and the staff were amazing. It’s a beautiful resort. The rooms were spacious as well. The food wasn’t the best, and the drinks tasted like Hi-C plus a little booze. For most people, it seemed to be totally fine so take this with a grain of salt because we determined we’re not all inclusive people. Most patrons were getting drunk by the pool, but that wasn’t our thing.

We like that it was beachfront I would say the highest regarded restaurant was the steakhouse and it was our least favourite. I just feel like the hotel needs to be updated and the restaurants that are à la carte. It was very limited in options. RIU palace didn’t feel like a palace quality at all. The Jalisco we went for lunch and it was better not best

Everything , the shows and the restaurant s the stuff is very nice and kind , really I want to comeback

Land lock cruise. Lots of old light people. Nice slow days. Eating tons of food and drinking lots. Nighttime entertainment over by 9 PM so you could go to rest. Very quiet, hotel views off the deck of the construction of a new high-rise being built next-door. Very dangerous. Slippery tile everywhere. People falling and getting seriously hurt on a daily if not hourly occasion, as a matter of fact, an ambulance sits in the front of the hotel to transport people who have hurt themselves. No night life. All older Canadian and Americans.

The good: the staff was excellent,BUT NOT the management. The weather was excellent. The sports bar had good hamburgers and nachos..There were plenty of chairs around the beach. It was quite close to the airport. I found the beds were very comfortable and room service was excellent. The Michael Jackson show was very good and so was the disco. It was a pleasant walk to Bucerias. Being a single woman I generally felt somewhat safe there except for what happened. I paid for the elite room, and was put in a room right next to construction. After three days, I was put into another room on the other side. That day $700 in US cash was stolen from my room. I discovered that the door does not properly shut unless you slam it. So someone saw me, leave the room and then entered and robbed me.. I spoke to the management and they denied that the door does not shut properly. They came up to the room and I showed them. There are no security cameras. Next to the room outside stairs the where you can directly climb onto the balcony. I tried it out and I could do it! I asked the hotel manager if I could get some sort of compensation at least if they could pay for my taxi back to the airport because now I have no cash. (I am reluctant to use credit cards for taxis due to the possibility of the card being compromised . They said no they will not pay or no anything for me. I paid close to US$5000 for an 8 night stay. I am Canadian and have traveled to many other hotels around Mexico and Third World countries and have never had this problem ever. Also, the buffet food is not very good except for the soup and cheeses are good .The floors are super slippery around the pool and saw a couple people fall. Many stairs there and very few bathrooms .
