Orchard Street Hotel

The AC was really good. The roof, though in tatters, has a great view. The staff tried hard to assuage the clients about the state of the hotel, but they were all lying. There was no hot water. The staff lied about it. The manager lied about it. I had a second reservation for my son to join me and I tried to cancel once it became obvious there was no hot water and there would be no hot water coming. The manager assured me that the cancelled room would be refunded. The hotel would not process the refund. The manager assured me that all nights without hot water would be comped. They were not and even though orally he and his supervisor confirmed that the forthcoming refunds would be processed to both me and Booking.com, they did not process the refunds. Booking.com asked them to simply respond to an email saying, we will refund the money and they refused to respond to the email. Without written confirmation, Booking.com will take no action to refund me the money. As a result, for just the cancelled reservation, I am out $517. Booking's idea is that they give me a $113 credit. Would I ever use booking.com? No. Would I recommend anyone ever stay here? After talking to the building engineer, one of the two water pumps is broken and they are not physically capable of providing hot water to the building. Yet Booking.com does nothing to protect its clients. Shameful. The hotel is run by fraudsters. Besides the forcing the front desk staff to lie to the clients, they are also inept. At one point a client came and asked if there was a dryer in the building. No, they said. Where could they find out? Somewhere in the neighborhood they have a laundromat. Not even the basic courtesies. Again, run by fraudsters and stay away. Sleeping on the street would be a step up because then at least you know what you're getting.

Location great. Very nice restaurantes around. Some of the staff were very nice and helpful! Even got us an early check in after a loooong 24 hour flight. Free coffee at the back was good! Wifi barely worked. Water took some time to heat up.

Gorgeous view and comfy room. Nice area albeit might be loud The female desk person who checked us in was incredibly rude the African American made desk man the next morning though was delightful

The best part was the AC. It worked great. But no hot water in the shower. The sink had some 2/5 days I was there. I woke up with bug bites and there were dead bugs by the window. Woke up on my last day with a bug crawling on the bed. But I guess for the price I get what I paid for.

DO NOT STAY HERE — Absolutely Horrible Experience I would strongly recommend that people DO NOT stay at this hotel. My experience was absolutely unacceptable from beginning to end. During my stay, I found a bug in the bed. Yes, a BUG in the bed where I was supposed to sleep. What made this even worse was the hotel’s complete lack of urgency or concern. Staff did not come up to my room to see the bug, remove it, or even offer to take care of the situation. I was already checking out that day, but even if I wasn’t, I was never properly offered another room. I was told they could “try” to move me, but there was no guarantee. On top of that, the water was not working that day. So I’m dealing with a bug in the bed AND a room without working water, and somehow management still did not think this situation deserved serious attention. After checking out, I repeatedly tried to contact management through calls, messages, and emails because I expected someone to at least acknowledge what happened and offer some type of reasonable resolution. Management did not follow up with me. The only response I received was essentially an apology and that they would contact pest control.

The room was very small (not unexpected) but clean. A little run down. Biggest issue was the hot water. It took 10-15 minutes to turn hot.

It was clean. Staff was nice, they have coffee and water, keep languages. You can hear a lot of noise at night from the hallway if people como in at night and talk and laugh. And my room was pretty small not night desk, no table.

Nice location The only member of reception staff did not have access to booking.com bookings, and had to contact her off-site manager, who told her there was no booking on their system, despite this being confirmed through both booking.com and by the property who had previously messaged me back on booking.com. The poor receptionist had to inform me that I needed to contact customer service at booking.com. Customer service have confirmed to me that my booking was on their system, so this is case of a poorly managed and/or unreliable property.

The room was pretty small but I didn’t mind I just needed a room and bed to be in for the nights I was there. I stayed for 3 nights, on my last day there the water from the shower head was barely coming out. I had to shower basically with droplets but other than that everything was good the view was nice. And the area does get loud during the weekend, I personally didn’t mind but for someone that needs silence choosing a different area would be better

Location Pumps went out… no water in room for one night out of three night stay. Even with water back on, water pressure in sink was not satisfactory
