Shem Creek Inn

Friendly staff with lots of helpful information. Room very comfortable and bigger than expected. Relaxing nice views of the marsh and Shem Creek. The boardwalk was a nice surprise. It was our first time staying in Shem Creek (usually staying in downtown Charleston) before dropping our son at The Citadel. We would definitely stay here again.

Close to everything. We had a room with a balcony that faced Shem Creek. It was great. The beds were comfortable. I forgot my pillow at home. Their pillows are comfortable. The AC was cold. The grab and go breakfast worked out great. The staff was very attentive to our questions and needs. I met the General Manager, Gray, and he was just as authentic as if I’d known him my entire life. The boardwalk to the marsh, which ran adjacent to Shem Creek, was peaceful and relaxing. Can’t wait to go back. Nothing!!

Great location and view from the balcony to Shem Creek was really nice. Room was spacious and clean. Onsite parking was great although parking grounds could use a little TLC. Amenities were fine and available breakfast was simple but good enough for our needs. Very satisfied with this property and would stay here again if we were to be visiting the area again.

We are from Charleston and just wanted a staycation. We love Shem Creek but had never stayed the weekend before. Perfect location!! Great Views!! Make sure you get a marsh side water view. The staff were amazing and greeted us with smiles. Great Stay!! Unfortunately they do not have a restaurant on site but plenty in walking distance. But the breakfast grab and go was a nice surprise.

It was nice to be able to go down stairs and eat & drink at bar also next door was my favorite at Vickey’s. Great food & more great views!

The room was up to date and very clean. We had a great time. It was so nice all the different restaurants within walking distance. The pool was refreshing. We will be staying there again!

We loved the "mom and pop" feel to this motel! Also- the pool area is the highlight! We loved the access to all the bars and restaurants! A very small detail in the pool area was the music was too "boring"- would prefer that it be more "upbeat"- hardly a deal breaker!!
