Excelsior Hotel Gallia, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Milan

Excellent location for a 1 night stay close to train. Huge room and super comfortable bed and sheets. I slept well after a long travel day. Excellent customer service. Huge gym with pool, spa, easy to rest and sleep here. Bonus- they have a golf simulator! It is a good hotel for proximity to train it is far from main city center

5 stars standards no doubt more machines would be needed in the gym to complete it (at the very minimu, a leg extension/curl machine(s))

I have stayed at the hotel three times and love the hotel and the staff. The rooms need a little updating and the carpets need to be replaced.

I apparently got charged 3 times for taxes and fees mistakenly due to an error system and they took more than a 1000 euros and until now nothing is refunded… when I called regarding the deduction the first time they were very cold and said thats a procedure until it happened the 3rd time and I came to argue about it is when they said there is a system error.

Nice facility and good size well appointed rooms. Staff was very friendly and attentive. Elevator was slow at times….. life is good if this is your only issue?

I loved the fitness center. For a hotel gym it had everything needed.

Not bad, beautiful Christmas atmosphere and very good breakfast and personnel in the breakfast area!!! Some personnel with lack of experience in reception and in the lunch cafe..however they have experienced supervisors, they fix the issues, but not everything. For example the guy Matteo I guess sold on reception me an upgrade with no breakfast, and left me with small kids in the 1st floor hearing train noise whole night, + strong smoking smell in the rooms. Of course not nice

the "suite"rooms have a connecting door which took forever to the staff to open, And the lighting systems are weird and not intuitive.

Nice decoration, beautiful hotel. Rooms are not big for the value, spa is not available for kids, pool is nice and kids friendly (they mention), but come and ask to be quite for kids of 4 or 6 yo, even if they behave. So very good hotel for couples, but not for families with kids.

Everything was perfect

I had a very unfortunate episode at the time of check in with an extremely rude member of the staff, to whom I asked a small favor that would have saved me lots of aggravation after a very long and exhausting trip . This person first refused the favor, then literally said that he would have done it if I had booked the stay directly with the property (and not through Booking), and when I protested proceeded to insult me in front of other staff and clients. Thankfully the Director (a very nice lady named Namchi or something similar) eventually stepped in and promptly solved the situation completely. However, this experience with this reception "manager" -- who, by the way, never apologized to me -- was beyond absurd for a 5 star luxury hotel that charges 600 euros per night. The rest of the staff was exceptionally nice.

Nice hotel with great staff. Breakfast was amazing! Dirty old carpet in room was gross. Seemed out of place.
