The landscaping, breakfast terrace, pools and spas were all well kept and a lovely setting. Our room lacked AC so was very hot overnight.

Beautiful and very characteristic Not sufficiently equipped for the current and continuing heat waves

We loved everything about Hotel Villa Tivoli!! EVERYTHING! The owners and staff! The facilities! The meals! The gardens!! The views! The birds! Probably one of the nicest stays anywhere, ever, for us. Magical. Um… there was nothing we didn’t like.

The best experience

Hotel Villa Tivoli is an exceptionally nice property in a very peaceful location - with a nice view over the orchards - just outside the center of Meran. The hotel is made special by it's owners - the Defranceschi-Steiner family - who actively manage the hotel and participate in the daily operations - at the reception, in the restaurant, etc. The breakfast is superb, with an unusually large choice of breads, cheeses, vegetables, porridges, spreads, jams, etc. to choose from. The restaurant (for dinners) has a wide range of delicious fares to choose from. The two pools - one on the side of the mountain in the level of the 5th floor with a spectacular view, and another in the ground floor - are a delight, as well as the spacious and well-kept rooms. There are several nice walks/hiking paths available right from the hotel or from nearby, including also the famous Tappeinerweg. We will definitely go stay at Villa Tivoli again when next time in Meran. -

Villa Tivoli is a family business with caring attention to detail and comfort. The hospitality is very welcoming striking a perfect balance between etiquette and privacy. The hotel surrounds are beautiful with varying flowers and plantings. The pool has a lovely view and there are scattered niches for loungers and umbrellas. The rooms have lots of towels which is so nice because of the pool. Housekeeping was perfect. The breakfast is just wonderful with so many varying items from which to choose. The service for both dinner and breakfast is top notch making either a morning or an evening very relaxing. The menu offerings are delicious. I really appreciated being able to have my lunches out when I was exploring Merano, and then return in the evening for an exceptional dinner. Villa Tivoli is a jewel. IF you are heat sensitive you may find the lack of air conditioning in the room a drawback. There are effective window coverings to minimize the summer heat. In the evenings I slept with the windows open---- still very private, and I appreciated the soft night air. The scent of the jasmine plantings is dreamy.

You will feel like you are in Tuscany! I loved everything about it.

The major asset of this hotel must be the family running it. Always present, always helpful, know the area whatever it is you are coming to visit for. Quiet location overlooking apple orchards and Meran; all you hear are the 100’s of birds. Great outdoor pool. Hotel has an excellent restaurant; breakfast selection is impressive, with many local cheeses and fresh baked bread and cake. Could not fault it

Location
-
Quiet location, lovely views, excellent range of breakfast items, very delicious dinners available at their restaurant. Very pleasant and helpful staff. Nice big rooms, with lovely showers. Nice indoor pool and plenty of space to relax and unwind. Close enough to the centre while still feeling wonderfully isolated. Closest I have ever come to stealing a pillow! Nothing.

Everything! This is a really special place. It’s family-run, and the care that goes into making guests feel welcome is spectacular. The staff were lovely, the room was huge, with wonderful views. The breakfast was the best I think I’ve ever had - so many homemade cakes and fruit compotes! We will be back. Nothing!

Everything, particularly the family running the business: You feel immediately that they love what they are doing. That sets the spirit in this hotel. I could continue praising the food etc, but leave it with the remark that the location of the hotel at the foot of one of the mountains around Meran is also very beautiful. I would not know what to write ...

During our visit the temperatures were very hot and AC would have been great but we let with open windows which worked as well.

The Terrasse & its view and the staff/owners and its cleanliness. The bed had a rather hard mattress and the interior had seen better times but the Terrasse and the super friendly staff made up for it.
