Linden House Hotel

As soon as I checked in and went up all the flights of stairs because there was no left I immediately left. The place was extremely filthy. The carpet was disgusting, and the room was dirty. Along with the bathroom would not recommend this. Would love to have a refund if at all possible. I did not like that. The place was not clean at all and that we were on the top floor with all our luggage and no lift.

Great localization and value for this price

The staff was very friendly and the location is awesome! The neighborhood is gorgeous and it’s very near to the metro and the train station (Paddington). It doesn’t have an elevator and the stairs were a little narrow.

We travelled with 3 other couples, to attend The Buckingham Palace garden party. This was just right for all of us, with cafe, restaurants and bars just down the road for socializing each evening. The hotel does not offer breakfast, but we used a local cafe Mino and the food and staff there were also amazing. This was a great stay and the staff at the hotel could not be more helpful, offering us umbrellas to take for the garden party as the weather was not as we had hoped. Rooms were cleaned and drink making facilities refreshed each morning, and more available if you asked. My husband and I will be booking here when we travel to London in the future. I looked on trust pilot after booking and was concerned as some reviews talked about dirty rooms, bed bugs, and loud street noise in the rooms. As I had suggested the hotel I was concerned, but happy for this not to be true.

Our stay at this hotel was excellent. I understand some of the ratings lower than 10, because the accommodation and our room were not absolutely perfect in the sense that there are a few small things that could use restoration or renovation, but very little. What mattered most to us was that the rooms were clean, cleaned every day, and that fresh towels were provided daily. We actually enjoyed the Victorian style, both inside and outside, because it truly felt like authentic old London. The location is perfect, only 5 minutes from Paddington Station and just 5 minutes from Hyde Park. For the price, this is a really great place to stay. The staff are kind and helpful, and there is also space to leave your luggage on the last day. The only things we missed were a hook on the bathroom door where towels could be hung, and perhaps a small shelf under the mirror for toiletries and hygiene products.

It was a bit small and could do with a bit of a refurb but for a night's stay was okay and I have stayed at far worse.

The location is convenient , the bed was a little firm but comfortable, no backaches. the towels and sheets were very clean.

i really liked the location they didnt clean the rooms well. I left the cleaning sign outside but when i came back to my room they only made our beds and thats it they didnt clean the floor or change the sheets or the towels.

The room was large enough to comfortably accommodate even five people. The room was located in the basement, and there was not enough airflow. The staircase carpet leading downstairs was very old and noticeably unclean, and since it was close to the room door, it likely affected the overall air quality inside the room. The room felt very hot, and the windows were fully sealed, so we couldn’t open them to get any fresh air. The room also had not been cleaned properly. We found dust and even some leftover food items from previous guests. The air felt dusty and unpleasant, and the smell in the room was not good. Overall, the lack of cleanliness and poor ventilation made the stay uncomfortable.

Perfect location super close to lots of different restaurants (go to Milo’s for a good value breakfast) and only a couple blocks from Paddington station. If you’re not picky, this place has all you need at a great price and great staff. Clean bed, hot shower, and flexible staff that kept our bags safe when we needed it. If you’re picky maybe the size of the shower and the interesting carpet smell. But to me it was not a big deal, great location and staff ?

Kind and helpful stuff

We didn’t check in to our reservation because there was evidence of an ongoing bedbug infestation at the hotel. We expressed our concerns to the hotel and to Booking.com but neither was helpful. We requested a refund but our request was denied.

The location was good, near Paddington Station and restaurants. We got the room in the basement, there was very bad air in the room and the windows could not be opened.

Hygiene was good. No satellite channels available, so kida can watch cartoons, no wifi available, bathroom lock not available.

There was no AC and it was hot - middle of July. . Did not realize when I booked, that AC was not advertised. Perhaps my fault for not noticing but at $200 plus a night, I assumed there was AC. Other than being very hot, the small hotel is very nice and the staff very friendly.

Room was very clean BUT...TV was smaller than my laptop and had only 2 AERIAL antenna programs BBC and SKY. Remote was not match the TV and for 7 days stay TV is important. Bathroom clean but dangerous since is SLIPPERY very bad. NO hose for shower head and that was very bad. Overall room was V clean and if you fix TV and shower will be v good TV and shower head also very very slippery shower. Dangerous
