Quite and respectful environment! ?

Kind staff. Quiet and peaceful. I felt safe. nothing. everything was great.
-
Frying pans are not non-stick so my eggs get stuck to the pan - but this is a minor issue.

Everything was perfect

i liked that it was close to the metro and bus stops, and that there seemed to be an international street with plenty of food and drink options the facility itself was dirty, nothing seemed to be cleaned well. the room itself was fine, but the bathrooms were filled with other guests items, which was a bit unsanitary and the hand washing area had an option for guests to dump things they didn't want and for others to take, usually these items just needed to be thrown out. the floors and drains were filled with hair. i also did not like that cleaning staff would enter our rooms without knocking. i was in a room with 4 with my companions and none of us heard any knocking - the staff entered when they pleased, which i brought to the attention of staff, but then this situation happened again just a day later.

Everything else, was lame.

It was clean and staff were lovely. A few difficulties with the locker.

Room itself was nice with privacy curtains in the beds. Location was right by a metro station which was very convenient. Staff wasn’t super welcoming and always seemed inconvenienced when I talked to them about anything. Common facilities (lounge, kitchen) were small. Housekeeping staff did not speak English. No warning that the kitchen would be shut down for almost a full day until they closed it.

I liked that the staff were kind and if you had an issue, they were helpful and listened instead of being dismissive. This building is right next to a bar. The bar gets extremely loud and you can hear everything, even with the windows closed. I also noticed that the bathrooms and showers past the first floor were not regularly cleaned , especially the toilets. They constantly smelled of urine. The showers were sometimes ok but they get extremely dirty very fast. The bunk beds are pretty low so unless your 5’2 and under, you won’t be able to sit up all the way if your on the bottom bunk.

Great location! very accommodating as well as very clean

The location was a short walk from the Bethnal station which took me to everywhere I wanted to go. It is just a few stops to the ABBA concert. There is a grocery a few buildings down the street .Nice fellow travelers. Coffee and tea available all the time. I felt safe during daylight hours, but it was marginal after dark. It was light until 9:30 when I was there, but I didn’t feel like going to a show because I didn’t want to be out on the street after dark. Air conditioning in the kitchen/ communal area. It was hot while I was there. The other ladies wanted the curtains pulled which stopped the air from circulating. The did have a fan.

Excellent all
-
No elevator; steep stairs. Toilets and showers could use more ventilation.

The ants

although I saw cleaners every day cleaning the shared spaces, I sometimes found the shower floors dirty and the toilet spaces with litter or dirt, so I wonder if maybe the cleaning of shower and toilet spaces should happen more times a day considering the amount of people using them

The 6-person room is not worth booking. In my opinion, it is only suitable for four people. The hostel squeezed six beds into the room, leaving so little space that two lockers cannot be opened. As a result, guests have to leave their luggage on the floor, making the room very cluttered. I was assigned a bed next to the window. Because there is no air conditioning and the fan barely works, we had to keep the window open due to the heat. Unfortunately, this led to bugs coming in, and I was bitten throughout the night, making it difficult to sleep. The hostel should remove the two beds next to the window. This would create enough space for everyone to access their lockers and prevent guests from having to sleep right beside an open window.

The property is in a good location Totally unresponsive, uncompromising and inflexible

Cleanliness is an obvious issue. There is so much dirt and debris built up under the beds. This is my second stay here and I was unlucky enough to get a bed that had bed bugs, I woke up with six bites in two rows on my back. Staff were able to move me to a new bed but I brought the bed begs along with me when I went home. Really unfortunate to have this issue in my own apartment now. Facilities also seem to need a lot of maintenance as well.

Location, and all-female environment. The kitchen works well. Also the park nearby. The 6-ppl female room was a bit stuffy, and there were people coming back late at night and packing very early in the morning. I also didn’t really talk to anyone from the room since everyone seemed to be minding their own business. The daytime front desk staff also seemed to only be friendly to people they had a personal relationship with.
