New Road Hotel

For an overnight stay in London the place is great. Everything was clean and it was quiet. Slept very well. It was hot in London and AC cooled nicely . Rooms are small which I expected. I was alone but if you are 2 people traveling, this may not be for you. But for me it worked well

Excellent location. Nice decoration. The yoga room and the rooftop are nice too. The room was a bit small for two people. No free soap or shower gel. The hotel’s design is nice but the lighting is very dark.

The hotel styling was very well decorated. It’s an industrial look but also comfortable. There’s nothing I didn’t like about the hotel itself, it’s just unfortunate about its surroundings. For a similar price, you could have a hotel in a much nicer area.

Location! Very clean. Staff are very helpful and kind. No coffee and tea in the room. There is no fridge. But that staff gave me a mini fridge after I requested one. So thank you (very good customer service). You have to go to a room outside the room for a tea and/ or coffee and it’s the really cheap stuff and the water isn’t very hot. I went as a solo traveler so it was perfect. But the bathrooms are not private so might be the best for a couple…..

Bed was so comfortable and there was a great selection for Breakfast.

Good food, nice rooms, roof terrace good Tea making facilities

Close to the Whitechapel tube stop (less than a 5-minute walk), it's also on the Elizabeth line straight to Heathrow. The rooms are large and, more importantly had working AC! We arrived during a heatwave, and it was much appreciated. I arrived at the hotel at 1.30pm and asked the receptionist if I could check in. He replied tersely, "It's £20" to check in early. I could understand if this was 11 am, but it was an hour and a half before check-in and the room was clearly ready. I didn't need access to the room; all I wanted was to put my bag somewhere. I declined the £20 offer and took him up on his offer of storing my bag. I really don't like hotels that already charge a lot of money {£200+ per night) and then ask for an additional charge. It leaves a bad taste in your mouth.

The room was a bit small but excellent, with a comfy bed and modern bathroom. Very quiet, no external noises. Friendly staff. Only 5 min walk from the tube with excellent connection to the city and main train stations. And 10 min walk from Brick Lane. Be aware that the bath room has glass doors, so you need to be very comfortable with your travel companion ;-) Or have a coffee break in the hall from time to time.

Septic smell in bathroom

The common areas were nice. The room was poorly equipped as there was no proper wardrobe, just a few hangers and nowhere to store clothes. It made even a short stay feel cluttered. The bathroom design was also frustrating. The shower was not separated, so water would go across the entire floor, leaving everything wet and inconvenient to use afterwards. Breakfast was another letdown. The selection was very limited, and the pastries were not nice. On top of that, it felt misleading that only part of the menu was included (you’re expected to pay extra for several items), which isn’t that clear and very very sneaky (one waiter told me that but another didn’t and I had to pay extra at checkout). Overall, not good value for money.

The hotel was ok but on the Saturday morning I heard knocking at the door but as it wasn’t very loud and wasn’t sure if it was my door. Walked toward the door and someone opens the door luckily I had put the chain on so they could not open it properly. The man said he was send up by reception as there had been a complaint of a smell which I said not contacted reception about anything. What made me feel very uncomfortable as a single female guest was that a male member of staff thought it was ok to go into a guests room at 8am without giving me enough time to say I was there. I did tell reception when I was checking out but they didn’t seam to know anything about sending someone to check a room.

Nice room, easy to get to other places in London. Good looking interior and a nice Lobby/Bar area. Cozy and clean rooms and nice bathrooms. The staff was Largely disinterested and hard to work with. We booked 2 breakfasts but the waiter didn't write it down and had to come back to ask what we ordered 3 times, only to tell us we 'don't have it booked on the system'. We were pushed for time so we only got one breakfast that morning when we had to leave early and were in a rush. When we went to pay, the checkout desk didn't make it clear what we were being charged at all, as we didn't get our breakfast and we didn't want to pay for it.

The fact that I had to insist on getting a room heater and an extra blanket although I explained that ACs are detrimental to my health which is something I don't choose. Friendliness of staff was very variable.

Fantastic location Nice facilities and staff Thin glass in the windows does not stop the noice from the street. Although the street was quite calm later at night.
