The room was small but I wish there was a bigger table to set all our things on.

Staff Amenities

Staff lovely and friendly and helpful. Fun vibe, nice design. Functionality is sub-par: no drawers in room and almost no hanging space (add hooks!); hot water took 8 FULL MINUTES to arrive and never reached optimal temp. Menu was good (nice variety and not limited to Portuguese standards), but poorly executed—you need a better cook, honestly.

Location was great. Decent size rooms We didn’t know the rooftop would be closed for the season. It would have been nice if that had been clear before booking. It was one of the reasons we picked the hotel and plenty other hotels had there’s open and we spent many evenings on other rooftops in the area

Hotel was fun and modern. Breakfast was excellent. Location was excellent. Room was very small and far too hot, we couldn't regulate the temperature so slept with the window open. Bathroom was very small and shower was not very well ventilated.

Room was nice, clean and comfy. Staff was rude. Requested a cappuccino, that I would pay for, in the morning before I was heading out on 8/18/25 and the person at the front just ignored me. Then 20 minutes later said that her co worker would make it but by that time my taxi had arrived. No one said hello to me the whole time I was there. Everyone looked miserable. Staff just ignores you once you have checked in. I asked for a steamer or iron and the only one they had was broken. The day receptionist stated she would find another one and never came back. After a 45 min wait I ask the housekeepers for the steamer and they were nice enough and brought it to me. I am doing a 40 day tour of Europe and this is by far the worst place I have stayed.

Location is close from a lot of tour pickup points. There are some restaurants nearby at walking distance. The staff was amazing, they gave me good restaurants recommendations for vegetarian food which they had tried themselves, so that was worth gold. The breakfast was average. The rooms/bathrooms were tidy and the lighting was great. The HVAC is not centralized, so you can set temperature for the room. Hot chocolate was pre-made in a container and was miserable. During breakfast, they seem to be understaffed as you will see empty containers or coffee machine trays not being cleaned frequently enough.

The room was very nice, the bed extremely comfortable, and the breakfast was really good. I was really looking forward to this stay because my experience at Mama Shelter Belgrade was fantastic, but unfortunately this location fell far short. The staff was unfriendly. When my friend arrived, they couldn’t find his reservation and told him he had no room. Only later did they discover that the reservation did exist, yet no one offered an apology. Checkout was also disorganized, with very few staff at the desk and a long queue. We were told the invoice would be emailed, but it never arrived, so now we have to contact them ourselves. Also, staff in the corridors should at least say hello :) I hope the management reads this feedback, because the experience didn’t match the brand’s usual standard .

The vibe Small rooms

Location, style, rooftop and parties Room was too basic for the price as far as toiletries (they had one bottle as shampoo, body and conditioner), missing proper drinking glasses
-
Lively atmosphere. Nice restaurant and rooftop bar. Accessible to shopping areas and restaurants. Balcony in room was nice to have! Grocery across the street.

Mama Shelter Lisboa is a fun and stylish place to stay in Lisbon. The rooms are modern, clean, and comfortable, with quirky design touches that make the experience memorable. The staff are friendly and helpful, creating a welcoming atmosphere. The location is excellent—close to restaurants, nightlife, and major attractions—and just a 15-minute taxi ride from the airport, making it very convenient for travelers. A great choice for anyone looking for a lively and unique stay in Lisbon. There’s limited space for luggage and movement, which can feel a bit cramped, especially if you’re staying for multiple nights or have a lot of belongings.

Location Fun feeling Check in was seamless Smell of the room was damp upon walking in- smelt like mould Room was extremely tiny- not good value at all. Only 1 small bottle of water left in the fridge for us on arrival.

The masks in the room were weird!

I have been a fan of Mama Shelter since is started, have stayed in the first Paris location several times and also Marseilles. I have always loved the approach and catering Reception and breakfast restaurant staff were not friendly or engaged. Rooftop staff were good actually but locals made it uncomfortable for me as I was on a table they wanted (friends of performer)

The food was great and the rooftop bar had nice views. This hotel is right downtown and the activities we had booked in advance turned out to be within walking distance. The a/c didn’t work well and it took a long time to cool it. Luckily, there was a little door that opened to a tiny balcony, so we could let fresh air in at night.
-
Staff at check-in very friendly, we had a lovely, spacious room in the 7th floor, with a view of the 25 of April bridge. Rooftop also had amazing views but more of a younger scene (we are a middle aged couple with a young teenager) so we didn’t linger. One oddity is that the shower door is clear and there is no door so no privacy while showering.

The room was super hot and the AC wouldn’t go lower than 18 degrees.

BREAKFAST WAS GREAT. LOCATION A BIT FAR LOVED THE ROOF TOP RECEPTION

The room was extremely stuffy. It had no fan and the window only opened a few inches.
