I didn’t like the staff turning our thermostat down at night. It was freezing!

This is a great hotel - probably one of the best urban hotels I have ever stayed at. The building is beautiful and perfectly maintained. The restaurant (Le Perroquet) is excellent, including for breakfast. The room was immaculately clean, very well decorated and highly functional (eg., the Wifi, the A/C, the shower pressure, etc.). The staff were extremely helpful and personable. Although I didn't use either of them, the gym and the pool seemed a bit skimpy compared to the quality of the rest of the hotel.

Delicious Saturday brunch. Lovely old building with beautiful modern conveniences. Great neighborhood--took an uber to the Parque del Amor and walked along the ocean on the lively malecón back to San the hotel. Had a nice swim in the chilly pool.

Great service and ambience.

The beautiful room and hotel. To be able to play golf :-) very friendly staff. No spa was available, no warm swimming pool. The cold pool is very small.

This is a grand old hotel with service and feeling of a bygone era but with all the modern amenities. Nothing

Amazing rooms and decor, comfortable beds

Staff outstanding in all areas. Room excellent. Location just right.

Dinner was disappointing for a high end hotel. Food was below average and service was just ok.

Our concierge Nelson was the absolute best in the world. Whatever we needed and whatever questions we had, he took care of everything for us with an amazing sense of urgency and decorum. With his help, we obtained reassurance that we would be able to get to Machu Picchu in spite of the threatened rail road shutdown in September. We liked everything. It was all outstanding.

Beautiful clean with great architectural design.

The Country Club Lima hotel is gorgeous. The rooms are spacious, well appointed, very comfortable and have a large bathroom. The decor is stunning with huge bouquet of flowers throughout the hotel and antique furniture. It has 2 pools and a small gym. The breakfast buffet is huge and offers a variety of foods. The staff is friendly, welcoming and helpful. Nothing

When I checked-in the staff went out of their way to tell me the breakfast hours at the restaurant. The next morning I went in and gave the staff my room number. They acknowledged this and showed me a seat. I served myself from the buffet. When I went to leave, a server chased after me, telling me that I had to pay for breakfast. I told her that that I was staying at the hotel and was pretty sure my room rate included breakfast. I would check with the front desk and return to pay if needed. Rather than trust me, the server followed me to the desk with the check in hand and stood behind me while I spoke to the receptionist (theme here - see below). The front desk informed me that breakfast was not included with my reservation, and that there was absolutely no solution other than me paying the bill. That was odd. This was literally the first hotel in Peru to not include breakfast as part of the room fee, and I had understood that them telling me the breakfast hours when I checked-in implied that breakfast was included. In addition, in the morning, no one at any time handed me a menu or informed me of the cost for the breakfast buffet prior to presenting me with the check after I had finished eating. This is an odd way to treat a guest at a ‘leading hotel’. Maybe ‘sorry for the misunderstanding and here’s a discount’ would have been a nice gesture.

Comfortable beds and well located. Staff was often very unhelpful, snobby and dishonest. We were given a small room in a lower category than we had paid for and they said that they were full and couldn’t give us the room we initially paid for, but refused to reimburse the money we had paid for the room in a superior category. They said “it’s just like this and there’s nothing we can do.” After verifying on booking we saw that there were indeed rooms left in the category we initially paid for and other categories as well (as the hotel wasn’t full at all). They then insisted that the given room was the category we paid for (as if we were idiots). Then they changed tactic and said that if we REALLY have to have the category we paid for they would have to move other guests so that we could take their room (this is not true and something they said to not want to bother with our request anymore, as they figured it would make us feel bad.) it’s just such a ridiculous and unprofessional way to treat paying guests that have travelled half across the world to stay in their hotel… also the question remains why it would even occur to them to treat guests like this. It blows my mind. We kept insisting calmly but firmly that what they are doing isn’t correct and that we’d prefer to leave the hotel if this is how our stay is going to continue. Finally the manager Roberto agreed to give us an upgrade to a suite and apologized for the inconvenience as we had also asked to potentially extend our stay with 5 extra nights… long story short. All this nonsense robbed us of an entire day where we were given misleading information on purpose and not being able to unpack and finally relax after a very long travel. The two women who were playing cowboy in the reception kept having an attitude with us more or less during our stay but the rest of the staff were lovely.
