The room itself was excellent: very spacious, with a comfortable bed, a sofa, and even a small kitchenette. The hotel’s location in downtown Kingston is also ideal, and the staff were consistently friendly and welcoming. Breakfast was included in our rate, and the food was tasty. The balcony was a major disappointment. I specifically booked a room with a balcony because my wife and I enjoy sitting outside in the evenings. Unfortunately, the balcony was extremely small, had no furniture at all, and there were no chairs in the room that we could bring outside. Our room was on the 4th floor, yet a section of the hotel’s rooftop was directly in front of the balcony, completely blocking the view. On top of that, the balcony was dirty — clearly not maintained, probably because most guests wouldn’t want to use it anyway unless they smoke (we don’t). Breakfast could also use improvement. The selection was very limited, and all three mornings we had exactly the same three options to choose from.
