Location, size of room The staff wasn’t very friendly. Not local, so not well informed about the area. Very difficult to haul luggage to room. They made no offer to help. Housekeeping bare minimum.

We love this hotel and have visited multiple times I dont appreciate booking.com taking full payment 5 days before we even check in, it is pretty arrogant and takes away the interaction with the hotel staff , paying and thanking them it makes the transaction feel numb

Great location... easy walk into town It is dated... requires new beds and nicer pillows... take out the tubs for showers

Good location . Clean

The staff were delightful, friendly, efficient. The evening meals were very good. The room was well appointed and clean. Car parking arrangements were good. The hotel was close to local amenities. The lounge and bar area was welcoming and comfortable. The breakfasts could have been better in terms of the quality of ingredients. The interior of the hotel building was very dated, though improvements are being made.

This old hotel is a short distance 4 minutes from town easy walk set in a park it used to be the old Keswick railway station hotel. It does need updating but we love big rooms Comfortable clean and very quiet. The breakfasts and dinner were outstanding with a great buffet breakfast each day lots of selections.. dinner was three courses was phenomenal.. they have done very talented chefs . The bar and lounges are very beautiful. The staff are extremely professional and polite. This was one of the best hotels on our trip Will book to stay here again next year..

Didn't dislike anything

The room was very good with lots of space and bed very comfortable. Particularly liked the lounge area in the room but would have liked a foot stool to make it more comfortable when watching T.V. Great views from all of the windows. All of our food was wonderful,as always, and the restaurant , bar and reception staff all very good , pleasant and efficient. As the hotel is quite old the room decor does need updating , particularly the window frames which are in need of some care and attention.Obviously it would be expensive to replace them and it would spoil the look of the hotel in most rooms, but the window frames definately need to be looked at and maybe cleaned and repainted.

Great location, friendly staff and great food in the restaurant. 30 seconds to the start of the weekly, picturesque parkrun too.

The choice and standard of food is excellent. The only slight downside was the booking l made via Booking.com said our room would have a view, unfortunately we looked directly into the rather shabby building at the rear of the hotel. It was disappointing when the rest of the hotel has such lovely views. As we were out all day and it gets dark early in March it didn't matter too much. I will make sure l ring reservations to ask for a view next time we visit. Otherwise it is a lovely hotel.
