We woke up to our room invested with ants! Spencer, the hotel manager on duty, was awful! Zero help! He said we would receive a full refund for our stay, but I have not received anything and this was a week ago. The rate was also more expensive due to it also being college move in…..don’t stay here! Unless you want to be covered in ants! And receive horrible service!

Great people. Would definitely stay here again.

The staff was great. The ladies at the front desk were very friendly, as was the lady preparing breakfast and the janitorial crew.
-
Room was nice
-
Staff was nice and helpful. Hot breakfast was good.
-
Hotel was under construction and there was stuff everywhere!! There was no ice in the whole hotel!! The guy at the front desk didn’t offer to raise a finger to help us find any either.
-
It smelled the shower was broken
-
It was dirty and nothing worked. If renovating then they need to close or provide discount. Not acceptable for the cost. Pool was also gross
-
Did not have breakfast. We always stay at the Hampton wherever we go and that’s one of the reasons is breakfast It always been very good Less money is always good for a room
-
The room was nice and knit! Has a microwave in the room so we didn’t have to go in the lobby to warm up our food! My kids loved the beds! The bathroom was very comfortable and clean! My kids and I can’t wait for next time we come to Iowa City!
-
Run down trash in hallways no towels in pool area room wasn't sweep or floor cleanex
-
Smelled like sewage in the lobby area.
-
The room was not clean, in our room the ceiling had a water leak at some point and had not been fixed, the door to our room did not close properly and would not dead bolt. The staff was no help with kids running up and down the hall knocking on door At 11:45 at night. There was no parking at the hotel and were told to park off the property and walk.
-
We were not notified about the remodeling being done of the entire hotel. My room had a dirty toilet (it was gummy- I cleaned it myself) and there was some sort of caulking on the faucet. Refrigerator but no microwave. The only working ice machine was on the first floor (we stayed on the 4th with kids and dogs), and you had to walk down a hall to get to it.
-
Lady at the front desk talked so quiet at check in couldn't undestand her asked multiple times to repeat. Our bathroom door wouldn't close which was a huge inconvenience.
-
Reserved two queen beds but got one king
-
Newly renovated. Staff very friendly.

Rooms were nice. Newly updated. Hotel is currently being renovated which was not listed when booking. Slightly inconvenient to only have ice on first floor as well but have nothing posted about it. Breakfast was good.

There isn’t anything I can say I like. The place was a huge renovation mess, I swear there were no smoke forgot in the hallway on our floor, I’ve machine didn’t work, didn’t get the room we booked because they overbooked and my adult son had to sleep on a terrible roll away bed, couldn’t get the TV to work the first day, and no one told us the messed up way to use the air conditioner until I had to ask! The entire stay was awful and for paying almost $900 for two freaking days, I expected a little better! Literally everything.
