Location excellent - view over river & of castle, etc. Room very clean & comfortable. Welcome snack a nice touch. Handy for walking to Theatre & centre of town. External building appearance getting a wee bit scabby with rusty/broken/cable-tied railings, etc. Bar opening/closing times could be extended. Closing at 10:30pm is early for Friday/Saturday nights ... especially when having a short holiday/break.

Very pleasant staff. Proximity to Town centre. No onsite car parking. Tired decor in need of redo. Horrible outlook from my room at rear of hotel. Not worth the money. Felt cheated

Central location, some of the staff were nice Room was falling apart and covered in cobwebs, breakfast was stone cold and tasteless, staff were hard to come by and were all running around trying to do too much, check in was a shambles, shower head covered in rust, window stuck open with moss and mould coming in - we were nearly £400 for 2 nights for our honeymoon and I honestly wouldn’t say it was even worth half of that. Tried to talk to a woman at check out and she rushed us out with out asking how our stay was or giving us a chance to do so.

Location Almost everything! Facts & not emotions From the moment we arrived, our stay was quite uncomfortable. The room didn’t look remotely close to what was shown in the photos—it was very small. While it did have a good bed, the room smelled like dog urine. The window was always left open for ventilation since it was summer, which helped dissipate the smell somewhat, but it was still noticeable. From day one, we let them know that we didn't have any shampoo or soap. Instead of replenishing them properly, management simply left them outside our door. Furthermore, the room was not cleaned until the fifth day of our stay (we were staying for six nights total). They never made the bed; they only replaced the towels once and nothing else. Additionally, upon arrival, we asked for recommendations for nearby restaurants. They had no idea what to suggest, and the only option they offered was eating at their own restaurant. When we went down to eat one day, we sat waiting and nobody approached us. When we finally asked for assistance, they told us they could only offer us whatever was left from a dinner already reserved for a group of eight. They could have easily informed us at reception from the beginning that dining at the restaurant required an advance reservation so they could prepare. The communication was terrible, the organization was poor, and the place itself was quite mediocre. The breakfast was also very disappointing due to the lack of variety. While we understand we were in Scotland and it's nice to experience traditional food, as a hotel receiving multicultural guests—especially those staying for over six days—it gets repetitive. It would be great to have a bit of variety: keep the traditional English breakfast, but add pancakes, omelets, or other options for long-term guests. Honestly, the only good thing about this hotel is its location. Even so, it’s much better to stay somewhere else.

The woman who checked us in the room was so friendly! The Ness Suite was stunning with a great view of the castle and river. Worth the extra cost to book this! Breakfast was only so so and many items ran out by an hour before the end time.

The breakfast was very good. I would have liked a better view from my room - i was at the back which wasn't very appealing.

I will say that the bed was comfortable, and the staff did call a taxi for us, which we appreciated. However, based on the service issues, lack of cleanliness, and room condition, I would not recommend this hotel. Overall, our stay was disappointing because the hotel experience did not match the online photos or expectations, and several service and cleanliness issues made the visit frustrating. We arrived in Inverness and reached the hotel early. I had read online that luggage storage was available, so we stopped by before check-in. The staff said our room would be ready at 3 p.m., which was fine. However, the luggage storage area did not feel secure because it was next to the front desk, and the desk was often unattended while staff stepped away to run items to guests’ rooms. When we returned at 3 p.m., we were told we needed to wait another hour. We sat nearby because we both wanted to freshen up before doing any more exploring. Soon, other guests arrived and were given rooms. After seeing three other couples successfully check in, I asked again. This time, the staff asked for my name and gave us a room. Unfortunately, the room was not like the pictures online at all. The headboard was a beat-up aqua vinyl headboard, and the bathroom had peeling paint, mildew on the walls, and smelled strongly of mold and mildew. The bathroom sink was also very slow to drain. The next day, the hallways were littered with room service trays, glasses, and other items. Because the weather was warm, the food left on the trays caused the halls to smell like garbage.
