Very helpful staff for older people

The staff was very helpful in all aspects of the stay. The food was very good. We would expect to stay here again.

Our stay was excellent! Clean rooms, excellent amenities and friendly staff.

Love this hotel. Rooms are large and comfortable. Beds are comfortable. Plenty of counterspace and under counter on the bathroom vanity. Parking garage very accessible. Every member on staff we spoke with was extremely cordial and helpful. Very competitive pricing for this quality. This is now our go-to hotel on future trips to Galveston.

I booked this hotel for a family stay of 6. The property was great, especially the staff. The problem I had was I clearly booked for a handicapped individual and the rooms they gave us were at least 3 blocks from the main building. We asked to be moved and they did move us cheerfully, but it was grueling for my daughter to walk that distance. They said it was due to booking on expedia for the rate we paid. They should have informed us. The room I had did not have anyplace to put soap, shampoo etc in the shower. Also no fan in the bathroom (or not functioning?) Other than this, no microwave or amenities in the room, except coffee. Water was $6.00 a bottle?! The hotel restaurant we ate breakfast at was just mediocre for expensive price. We waited 25 minutes to get coffee in the morning. But Shearns (steak and lobster) was the best we had ever had. Service, etc was impeccable and for six it was upwards of $400 (including tip), so very good. We all ranted about how good the food was, bread service, etc. Excellent! We would definitely return. We weren't able to use the pool, etc. Gift shop just meh... Wheelchair service great in hotel. Valet drove us to the pyramids so that was really helpful! As I said the staff was amazing!

If you’re visiting Galveston, Moody Hotel is definitely a must-see. Highly recommended! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

We love Moody Gardens and have been visiting for many years. It’s always a pleasure to return. The breakfast buffet is amazing. The food selection was wonderful and the omelette and Belgian waffle station made it even better. The staff are always friendly and you feel like you are truly at a resort. Something we have noticed are areas in need of maintenance. Particularly around the pool area. Pressure washing, some paint, and new signage in areas around the pool bar would go a long way. There are always improvements being made so this may already be on the list. Regardless, it’s a wonderful family friendly hotel with access to great attractions, the beach, and an abundance of dining options throughout Galveston. We will be back!

Easy to find and get booked in with valet or by yourself. Staff were very gracious and helpful. The guy at the desk said he was new but I would not have known as his training was superb, I had no problems checking in and he was extremely informative. Room was clean. Only downside was the microwave was in the ice room to be shared by others, which isn’t a big problem, I can understand the cost effectiveness of that. Just hard to microwave things for kids when you have to walk down the hall each time. Still a 10/10 and would/will stay here again with the family. Pool and pool bar was awesome! They stay open super late and luckily there was a firework show going on across the street on our last night we could watch from the pool. Thank you Moody Gardens for a unforgettable weekend.

Rooms didn't have microwave ovens in them, and had to exit my room and go outside in the hallway and share with everyone else. Please be aware of a $150.00 fee is part of checking in as well. I did notice that outside guest are allowed to share the pools as well. Overall the hotel had nice surrounding areas, and things to do but as for returning it's questionable. You really have to decide for yourself. I stayed because I waited too late to plan a weekend. I am not saying it was bad, but I should have planned much sooner. Our previous location where we wanted to go didn't even answer their phones. Oklahoma
