Reviews

The location was great but the homeless population and drugs made us feel uncomfortable.
-
The air conditioning didn’t work properly and it was 28 degrees Celsius when we arrived. We had difficulty getting the staff to fix it, and we had to ask several times. Also, there was only one person on the front desk so there was a wait every time we stopped there, and they didn’t answer the phone when we called. Eventually they did fix our air conditioner so we slept in a cool room.

Breakfast was very good. Staff was great. Roons were large. We are not city people so we were taken back by the city problems and police presence.

Everything was wonderful, room was great size, comfy bed & clean, breakfast was great, close to Stampede walking about 10mins. Even though there were homeless people around I never felt unsafe. Highly recommend especially if heading to the stampede! Also holding me bags before checking in & after check out too was a bonus.

Didn’t love this area of Calgary—not a lot of restaurants to walk to, Lott’s of people asking for money
-
Really friendly staff The atmosphere outside. Lots of homeless people all around the area.
-
The price was way to expensive for what we got and the location is surrounded by people doing drugs.
-
The rooms clean and comfortable Terrible neighbourhood with lots of homeless. Front doors of hotel are locked because of homeless. No luggage carts for unloading, staff was not helpful at check-in, no loading zone. Only one elevator goes to the parkade. Breakfast included was not good.

The Cannery & Social’s food is absolutely delicious. The view is beautiful except for the construction site next to the hotel. The bedroom was spacious and comfortable. The bedroom didn’t have enough trash cans (we have a newborn so lots of diapers) and the AC kept on turning on when we switched it off.
-
The hotel itself was clean. And the staff were friendly. Very uncomfortable area. Sadly there are homeless drug users everywhere in this area. They are lying passed out and bent over everywhere in this area. It is unfortunate and very disturbing to walk around.

I was disappointed in the service

Very close to the saddle dome and Calgary tower, parking across the street is cheaper to use and convenient. The room we selected was for 3 and was stated when booked, we didn’t have anything for 3 like water, cups towels and had to go back and ask, after a long day of travelling and the price it’s the small details that count. Breakfast was chaotic and no where to sit to eat it. The food was below average, running scrambled egg which I took one mouth full and had to discard.

Great location, clean and well run
-
The room and breakfast were nice Being informed about parking and how to get to the hotel before going there. It was a real challenge.
-
Hotel is located near a homeless shelter. Not safe to walk around especially with kids.
-
Easy access to downtown amenities Was confused which entrance was for which hotel. Had to pay for public parking across the street.
-
Hotel was clean and staff were lovely Location wasn’t great, took awhile to find near by restaurants
-
The hotel is in a busy part of the city. There's a transit line that runs right by the hotel that is very loud. Unfortunately, the transit line ran along our side of the building.

We absolutely loved the staff. They are so friendly and helpful We asked for new sheets but they just made our bed with same old sheets There was no robes or slippers in the room The kitchen wasn't well equipped The kitchen cabinets were bit wonky There was only 1 big blunt knife in the kitchen, no liquid soap nd no scissors we had to ask for it.
