HI Calgary City Center is located in East Village, right around the corner from downtown. HI Calgary offers free breakfast. Free coffee and tea is provided all day as well. The City Hall transit stop is 2 minutes away and offers free transport within the city center. Free WIFI is included. Please note that anyone is welcome to stay with a valid ID from outside of Calgary. Shared bathrooms facilities are provided for dormitory guests. A 40" flat-screen cable TV, a desk and an private bathroom are offered in the private guest rooms. A billiards table, 60” flat-screen TV and BBQ facilities are available to guests of HI Calgary City Center. Laundry facilities and 24-hour reception are also offered on site. Guests can relax in the reading room. A guest kitchen offers added guest convenience. Studio Bell and Central Library are a 3 minutes' walk from the property. Calgary Stampede is 10 minutes’ from the property, while the US Consulate is 5 minutes' walk away. If you have booked with us during the Calgary Stampede (July 2-12, 2026), full payment is required at the time of booking. All reservations are nonrefundable and nontransferable. Cancelations or changes are not permitted for any reason. This includes adjustments to dates, length of stay, room type, or guest names. The individual who made the reservation must be 18 years or older and be present at check-in. No-shows will result in full reservation cancellation. Any remaining nights must be rebooked and paid for again.

Really liked the price-quality, free breakfast, laundry service (washing machines/dryer) in the building. Had a private room, which was really convenient: clean, own bathroom, nice bed. Staff was really friendly and willing to answer questions. Quite a bit of people living on the streets around the hostel.

Easy access to train and walking distance to most things I wanted to do. Plus, easy access to airport The eating area was hot and no windows opened. My shared 4 bedroom dorm smelled a bit and it was stuffy. Another person thought the same thing and opened the window and our room door to let the air flow through for a bit. It helped and was more comfortable.

The breakfast was a nice extra. The bathrooms were clean and the beds were clean. The staff was nice. A larger towel would be nice. The bed was good but a little difficult on the back. However overall a good quality stay for price paid.

• Great proximity to downtown and access to other places. • Very friendly and helpful staff. • Towel and soap were provided. • Full facilities (kitchen/laundry/lounge) to use. • Big size in-room lockable cupboard (but not big enough to store a large suitcase). • Paper towels in bathrooms. • The immediate vicinity sees a lot of homelessness and other social issues. • No privacy curtains (would have been great value). • No power outlet by bed side (terribly inconvenient despite a super easy fix). • Small shower cubicles with only a flimsy curtain for privacy. • Hand soap dispenser non functioning. • Wooden beds make a lot of creeky noises.

A well-run hostel. Comfortable bunk beds and a nice atmosphere. Very nice outdoor seating area. Poor ventilation, rooms hot, air con not working and substitute fans noisy. Also lots of noise from surrounding area. Lots of fentanyl users hanging around the local area.

Good location, friendly staff, clean facility. Time of breakfast only 8am-9am. It will be good it can be 7am-9am, which is offered in another facility. I couldn't make time to have breakfast when I was there because my group meeting time was 8am.

lovely staff, very helpful and great breakfast. Room lovely and clean. well located too Being honest there are a few undesirables hanging round nearby, however these poor souls have obvious addiction problems and presented no problem. Was not even asked for any money
