This hotel was like a bed and breakfast in that the family that owns it was very involved and gave us a wonderful experience while in Bruges. We loved that they retro-fitted the room with an A/C unit and this made the hot days much more acceptable. The breakfast in the morning was also amazing.. they delivered us everything we wanted for breakfast and were very kind with all of our requests. They would bring us four glasses with nice cold water and it was a very nice experience all around. So, this is just part of the whole experience but the winding steps up to the room were a bit daunting (especially after my wife injured her ankle walking). We did just fine but this might be a bit intense for an older couple, etc. Also, the A/C was wonderful but we had to make sure the door to the kid's room was open or it would get hot in their room. It was just something we learned during our stay and it was fine afterwards.

Wonderful hospitality! Old world charm which is rare to find today! The best breakfast served with love and care! Great location to explore Bruges. Very convenient to public transportation. It was noisy, thin walls, I could hear next room or downstairs guests. Stairs are too narrow and steep for someone with mobility.

Everyone at the hotel was very friendly, and happily answered all my stupid tourist questions. And this wasn't some bland, box hotel. This place has charm!

This was a great place to stay! Location to all the sights was approximately a 10 minute walk, and the same from the train station. Also places to eat just steps from the hotel. The staff was amazing! The lady serving the breakfast was the best and the food was delicious with lots of choice. Not sure of her name but she was very friendly and kind. Would come back here anytime!

The room was large, light and very comfortable. The location of the hotel was perfect--you can easily walk around the old town and its located across the street from the bus stop and not far from the train station. The breakfast was delicious and generous. You do have to take your luggage up stairs as there is no elevator but the host offered to help us take it up, which was very helpful.

Very charming and comfortable. Nothing, really.

It was amazing everything, the staff, the room and breakfast wonderful. Everything was perfect. Thank you Nothing. Everything perfect

The staff was wonderful. We want to recognize the lady at the breakfast and the mister at the reception. The loctaion near the train station for travelers that have large size luggage and that are staying for just a few days is great. For travelers with several luggages going up the stairs can be a challenge.

The woman who runs the morning breakfast service was absolutely delightful! The breakfast was terrific and her service made the stay better than we expected. Also, the 3 individual beds were so appreciated for 3 friends traveling together. Also, being able to walk from the train station saved us the cost of transportation. The location was great, but a bit noisy as it is across the street from a bus terminal. If the windows needed to be opened, it would have been very hard to sleep. While it wasn't an issue for us, there is no elevator and the stairs are narrow, which made getting luggage up and down the stairs challenging.

Lovely boutique hotel with so much charm. Decorated beautifully. Excellent service. A perfect breakfast to start the day.

The location is perfect, close to everything you might need. It’s an old hotel but very well maintained, with lots of charm. Breakfast was delicious and varied, a great way to start the day. The staff were always kind and helpful. I even forgot an item, and they went out of their way to help me recover it, which I really appreciated. I would definitely stay here again It was all good

Staff was helpful and pleasant, wonderful breakfast and reasonably priced with a fairly good location! Parking and getting there. We thought the hotel had parking but it does not. You have to park in Z’stand and it is 14 euro per day and complicated if you’re not aware in advance of parking underground and exiting in a building across the street from the hotel. As well, if your room is on the side of the buses you may hear them at 0500.?

Property very well located, ie, close to train station and main attractions. Cozy hotel, staff very polite, clean room with all facilities. “Super-Excellent” breakfast. I would come back.

Location is excellent. One bus stop from train station and two bus routes that run through old Brugge. The buses stop directly at hotel front. Accommodations suited us perfectly. The charming breakfast room is cheery and immaculately clean and tidy. Breakfast was served by a lovely lady who supplied us with an ample supply of breads, croissants, fruit, cereals, eggs, jams and coffee. Not applicable

Hotel Albert 1 is only one stop from the Bruges Railway Station by bus. It is right across the bus stop coming from the Bruges Railway Station. You only have to cross the street going to the center of it all. We never have to ride a taxi or Uber as the buses are all there and everywhere is walkable. We were at the 2nd floor and there is no elevator, but Christoff helped us bring our luggage upstairs. The included breakfast is sumptuous, delicious and filling, thanks to Mimi. Nothing.
