Villa Aretusi
About Villa Aretusi
Set in the Borgo Panigale district, Villa Aretusi once belonged to Cesare Aretusi, late-Renaissance painter from Bologna. The city center and Guglielmo Marconi Airport are 10 minutes' drive away. Parking is free. The rooms are located in the former barn, and come with tiled floors and air conditioning. Each one features a TV, free Wi-Fi and a private bathroom with free toiletries. A sweet Italian breakfast is served each morning. Villa Aretusi's restaurant is run by a young chef who has lots of international experience. A meeting and dining room is set in what was once the painter's studio. There is a large garden and a bus stop right outside for connections into Bologna. The property is easily reached from Bologna's ring road and the A14 and A1 motorways. Bologna Fiera exhibition center is 10 minutes away by car. License Number(s): IT037006A12AQL7GPQ

Basic room. Italy is expensive for accommodation and this place was normal for that. I think 55 euros for a small room off season. But this seems to be standard all over italy . … breakfast was included … friendly staff Modern and functional. Price a bit high

unusually large and quiet property. More an Air BnB on the monday when we arrives. But well organised. Grass was a little long on arrival. Would have appreciated some refreshment in the room. Excellent parking

Location, lovely setting, nice staff West was quoted as "total price" did not include the so-called "tassa di soggiorno". Must tiene in Italy have this but it's included in the price on booking.com in my experience.

The Original Villa building, its gardens & the restaurant were beautiful . We found a good Osteria in walking distance . The whole building was locked down when we arrived, with no staff on site!! - via another guest we had to complete a self-check in! The driveway up to the building - was overgrown, & uneven for a motorcycle. I had contacted the accommodation, asking if the restaurant would be open on the 1st night of stay - no response. We actually stayed in, what possibly could have once been an old barn shaped conversion (box). The rooms could have been anywhere - nothing special, very basic, as described . Flies/bugs on all the windows - even though no windows were open (when we arrived)!! The hairdryer packed up 1/2 way through during my hair. We had planned on staying 2 nights - so disappointed, we left after one night.

The Villa lies in a beautiful garden, close to bus stops to get into town, there is local walking along the parks on the river side. Exceptional staff and very clean rooms, new bathrooms.

Except for the baked goods, the breakfast was uninspiring. I didn't see any fresh fruit. There were 2 kinds of boxed cereal but no granola, dried fruits or nuts. The breakfast area was clean with fresh linen.

Handy for the airport. Lovely gardens. Breakfast was quite limited, the worst we've had at an Italian hotel, even making allowances.
