Hotel Donatello

I wish the breakfast offerings were better, and included hot options. Coffee could be better quality, and cutoff at 9:30 was sometimes a problem.

I liked this hotel and was given a bright bedroom with small private shower and toilet. I liked the minibar fridge and television which was in my bedroom. The hotel was located in the centre of Bologna which was great. It is a 5 minute walk from Piazza Maggiore so I easily walked to see the magnificant Basilica di San Petronio gothic church and the Santa Maria dei Servi church. There was a great restaurant on Piazza Maggiore where I stopped for lunch 'Bar Vittorio Emanuele@ and lots of other small cafes on the same street as the Donatello Hotel selling ice-cream, pizza and coffee. I recommend the Vanity Cafe and Cafe Eden also. I found the exclusive shopping centre GALLERIA CAVOUR with designer shops: Chanel ladieswear, Gucci clothes and shoes , Armani, Louis Vuitton handbags and Max Mara shop was nearby and this is near the investment banks and a lovely area of Bologna.

Just location They urgently need to remodel the rooms , they look very old , not traditional , not classic, just Old Water on the shower was very cold , air conditioning just cold no heating. Rooms very austere. And very expensive.

The staff was incredible. They helped with my lost luggage. The female evening receptionist especially, but the male receptionist as well .

We had a very pleasant stay at Hotel Donatello in Bologna. The room was clean and comfortable, and the hotel offered everything we needed for a short city break. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the location was great for walking around and exploring the city. Overall, a very good experience and good value for money. We would gladly stay here again.

Booked a single room for my son. It was a laundry cupboard that had been turned into a bedroom. Should have paid extra for a double for him.

Close to train station, great reception A/C was out when we visited, really unfortunate. Small room.

Location is great, right in the center. Room is average but bathroom is so small you can't move. Receptionist was very kind and helpful. Beds are uncomfortable and rooms are quite old.

The location, the bed was comfortable, reception staff was friendly. Parking can be tricky, especially as the roads are now being renovated and streets shut down or limited to one lane. There was no natural light, entering first time in room is like entering a cave, especially that you do not know the layout.

I didn't like the toiletries available in the restroom, such as shampoo and soap. There were a little bit of them. The beds were not comfy; I got a backache.

The location is very good. And the facilities are prepared Normally.

In my hotel room, the hallway light had a problem. There was no proper barrier around the bathtub to prevent water from splashing. At certain times, there were power outages, and on the last day of my stay, the water was also cut off for a while.

The room was a bit crowded. The bathroom a bit small - reminded me of an RV bath. I mean, there's nothing much I didn't like.

Great location, great staff, very helpful. The breakfast wasn't great. And the breakast space was a bit odd, a bit claustrophobic. I suppose that was what's available though. Little issues in the room (very common) - loose toilet seat, leaky shower hose.
