The location. No elevator, no air-conditioning a lot of stairs and if you come with large baggage, it’s a big problem

The location is very convenient it’s right at the city center just a walk from Central Station to the hotel. Considering the hotel maybe older but it’s clean. The staff were helpful. Too noisy outside at night. The unit without air conditioning can be very hot even in the middle of May. We kept the window open to let the air in but people smokes outside and I can smell the cigarettes coming in thru the window and I am not a smoker. As many older hotels we expected to not have a lift not for people with difficulty walking. Carrying a luggage up to the steep stairs can be a real challenge. I thanked the staff because they were very helpful.

Well situated in Old Amsterdam, close to Sentraal station. Although a small room, much more spacy and comfortable than local competitors in the area. Morning coffee for free is an added bonus. Support with suitcases to the upper floors as there is no lift, which is standard in these old buildings.

good location, the staff was nice and the room was clean small room + also we could hear every step and noise anyone made because the beds are under the stairs. a bit annoying not worth the money in my opinion

There is no breakfast but many restaurants around the hotel.larger Larger room with more furniture and a room coffee service it was the perfect

Only the location no view, did not tell me any photo of my room, did not tell me that my room will be on top of the building, very cold during night, if anyone just moves during the night you will hear it like it is in your room

The location and the staff was great. I stayed solo for 4 days and felt safe at all times. The room seemed to be newly refurbished. The stairs were quite steep inside the property

The location is ok. The hotel did not have hot/warm water to shower in the winter but staff couldn't find a way to make it up to the guests.

Great location, room is small but ok, facilities was ok, staff was very good avaliable and educated. Bulgarian guy at reception was very nice and helpful. Stairs was a real challenge.

perfect location, "Beurs van Berlage Damrak 243" (conference location) is directly across the street no wifi problems german and english tv channels noise was ok, i am quite sensitive but the noise level was ok. at booking time i requested a quiet room, they put me into a room to the side but told me as the hotel is at the main road there is no real silence. it was not silent but very ok. other people in the hotel where also quiet, no noise from rooms next to me (luck?)

Very close to center, good beds Wooden windows easily let in sound, plus they were hard to close shut

Great location and very helpful staff. I knew there were stairs and no lift before booking so can’t complain. The stairs are really steep and narrow so ask for a lower floor when booking.

Small rooms, stairs are very steep

Great location, clean and tidy, and friendly staff. I have a bad knee, so of course walking up stairs to the fourth floor was difficult. But that's not the fault of anyone but my knee. The three pm check in time was difficult, also, as I arrived in Amsterdam at 7am. I had to walk around all day with my backpack. But I knew this before I arrived and was resigned to it. No one's fault.
