Extended Stay America Suites Newport News Yorktown

This hotel was disgusting, roaches all over the lobby and I saw one crawling out from behind my bed on my way out. TV didn't work, was static on every channel. Fridge didn't get cold and wifi was in and out. Breakfast was a joke, pre packed muffins and granola bars how is that breakfast? Needed extra pillows and towels but no one answered at the desk even when i walked down to desk, I waited 20 mins before giving up because no one was ever there and I was there for 2 days. No coffee po, cooking pans or utensils were in the room and without anyone answering the phones, I had none of the amenities the hotel claimed to have. Also the room smelled musty like there was water damage that was never found/fixed. At check out, I waited 15 mins just for someone to come INTO WORK to help me. So there was no one on site which seems crazy to me. If I could zero, I would.

Everything was good honestly

Don’t stay here unless you like dirty floors and dirty rooms. Just needed a place to sleep after a long day and thought it would be fine for that. Walked into the hallway and was greeted with dirty carpet and walking through the hallway saw a full bag of trash outside a room door and a used latex glove on the floor. Yikes that was a red flag but it was so late that I decided to weather the rest of the storm. Dogs barking walking past several rooms made the rest of the walk to the room more uneasy. After walking into the actual room it smelled like someone just smoked crack or meth mixed with cigarette smoke even though it was “non smoking”. The room was hot so that didn’t help either. The bed, lampshades and walls had stains. The wall next to the bed even has some sort of graffiti on it. Any other day I would have walked out and tried to get my $ back but since it was so late I just gave in and slept like I was sure there were bed bugs. Anyway avoid this hotel at all costs even if all you need is a place to sleep.

Room was dirty giant water bug in the bathroom. Sofa bed and cushions were filthy and unusable. Not enough blankets no sheets for the sofa bed. Room was big with full kitchen but no dishes, dish soap pans, cups or plates. If planning to use bring everything needed.

As soon as I opened the door, a bad smell hit me. The hall colors are drab and dirty and there was trash on the floor that was still there when I checked out. This property has nothing to feel proud of so I understood why the staff looked bored and slow.

Supplies were low, and I was given a dirty plate. Had to change rooms, and it smelled musty. Bathroom was clean but doors and furniture was damaged. Only good thing is the location and outside.

Exterior was OK and the staff was great. The moment we walked in, it was filthy and not maintained in any way. The room was literally the dirtiest and most disgusting hotel room I have ever seen. I cannot even describe how bad. The floors were horrendous, bathroom was in disrepair, sheets and mattresses looked like a crime scene and the appliances were duct taped together. There’s more, but if you’re reading this you get it.

The noise level was unacceptable. That was little or no control of the children. They made too much noise and no quiet hours. Management needs to stay on top of the situation.

Cleanliness People hung out all night around our door

Checked in to find out they had none of the dishes advertised. They were "all out" so no way to actually use the kitchen without pots/pans, plates/bowls, cups. I got 2 spoons. I was also told no coffee makers left. I went to the room to find bugs on the bed, food in the fridge, and debris all over the floors and bathroom. I told the front desk staff and requested it either be cleaned or move to another room. I was told they had no staff to clean and no other rooms. I was told I'd get a refund from the manager in 4 days when she came back, but no such call or refund came and my calls were not returned. I had to go through Orbitz for a refund (which was granted). Other things to note, the building smells of smoke and mold/mildew, paint is peeling everywhere, floors are stained and damp. I don't like to be too picky, but this was disgusting.

Excellent experience from check in to check out. Room was clean. Staff was friendly and helpful.

5 words Dirty , and another 7 roaches

The microwave wasn't clean, cockroaches in the room, Narcan left in the drawer from previous guest, no bedding for the pull out sofa, food crumbs and horrible stains left on the mattress on pull out sofa bed. Oven was broken as well didn't even shut

Room wasnt cleaned and roaches were present. Property wont pick up the phone for hotels.com to refund money. Avoid at all costs

They had no blankets or sheets for the sofa bed not enough towels for everyone to bathe with I don’t recommend this place at all

this property was so dirty that my cat who I paid for went under the bed and got dirty from being under the bed underneath that bed was filthy. I’ve never seen so much dirt collected in a hotel room ever so I would never book this hotel again and I’m advising other people never to book this hotel.

This was by far the most disgusting hotel I have ever stayed in. Floor was dirty, filled with bugs, lint, and dust. The entire area wreaked of weed. The bed couldn't have been more uncomfortable if it tried. The walls had marks/holes in them, it wasn't even decently painted. I was required to checkout early because I could not stand one more second of being in that room.
