Booked this because above a pub and included breakfast so thought £110 per night wasn’t that bad until we turned up. We were taken to the room which was 3 flights up and furthest room from the pub, as I suffer with my knees I asked for a different room but told nothing else available. Once in the room the tea coffee sugar pots had a fine layer of dust and the bathroom was awful. I requested my money back and left. Room, sticky bannister dirty carpets, no headboard peeling paper in bathroom.

Location in centre of York - I was meeting relatives who were staying in a different hotel. Excellent breakfast and staff very helpful. The WiFi wasn’t working in my room despite their best endeavours and my mobile phone couldn’t get any reception.

Lovely room very comfortable bed and beautiful breakfast.

Location for the price was excellent, right next to the city wall, room has everything we needed and was clean and well kept. Breakfast was perfect, big cooked breakfast that set us up for days of exploring. The staff were lovely, in particular Kieran, the housekeeper who severed us breakfast each morning and serviced the room, couldn’t do enough for us and was a highlight of our stay. All good!

Location Need a refurb very outdated, the noise from the toilet all night there was a brokern window with board on. Went for breakfast had to ask for a bowl then Cuttery, the coffee machine didn’t work properly and everything was dirty.

Central location. Great staff and breakfast. Bar (Guinness) was spot on . Nothing. It was good value for money.

The landlord and landlady were so welcoming and funny and friendly. Made you feel really at home . The only downside for me was the fact of the amount of stairs up to our room but that was the only thing. We hope to go again in the future Too many steps for me could have done with a room a bit lower

Staff was nice friendly and helpful. Breakfast was nice. Bathroom had a musty damp smell to it. Toilet flush was was weak. Could not obtain WiFi. Told service was down when I enquired.

Breakfast great, location good Cleanliness, bed, overall air of place.

Location & friendly staff especially young man who served breakfast. Comfy beds. No WiFi. Loud noises when flushed loo. Sounded like noises in pipework. Damp marks up above window.

The staff were very accommodating and very pleasant. The breakfast was excellent. The bathroom did not looked to have been cleaned properly. No toilet roll on arrival. Dirty tissue left down the side of the toilet from a previous guest. Extremely hot evening and could not open window and no air conditioning or fan.

The staff were excellent, very welcoming, and the location was great, right in the centre of everything. The breakfast was delicious. We opted for a quick breakfast as we were booked for a history tour, but 5 stars to whoever made my bacon sarnie, the best one I've had in a long time. Wish we had more time for the full english. The beds were really comfy. Plenty tea and coffee, making supplies and towels. I absolutely love York, so I couldn't complain about anything.
