Reviews

The facilities and the location were excellent. Very nice staff as well! Nothing.

The room was a good size. Parking was convenient. The hotel is very tired...needs refurbishing. Staff was not friendly or welcoming. Staff parked in space we paid for and we had to wait for someone to find the employee to move it. No apology. The elevator broke and we had to carry our luggage down the stairs along with other guests. Staff said they would call to have it fixed, but all staff should have been summoned to assist guests...most of who were elderly. Poor customer service.

Was noisy. Hot in the top rooms. Service at check in was terrible. Roude and no directions to find the apartment. Room was basic. Lumpy bed, saged in the middle.
-
Perfectly acceptable but uninspired breakfast.
-
Good location on a quiet street and close to shopping and spots of interest. Our stay was during the heat wave and the windows only opened a few inches and only 1 small fan for the 2 bedroom apartment.
-
Beautiful room, amazing view of Ouse and Bridge street bridge. Good breakfast and excellent location.
-
Walking distance to train and Shambles, easy parking, good price Breakfast buffet not great.

The staff were very quiet and I felt unhelpful. When I arrived at the car park, got out my car to figure out how to open the closed gate, I had to ask the staff, who were on a cigarette break how to get out the car park. Perhaps the staff smoking area can be moved away from the sight of guests.

River view room was wonderful

Location is excellent, just 2 minutes walk to the bridge into the city. Car parking underneath the hotel is great, secure and very handy. Paid about £20 from 12-12pm, and if spaces were available after 12pm on day of departure we could keep our car there a bit longer until we left York (without extra cost). Advise prebooking car parking space as it was very full in the evening. Breakfast was a buffet and very nice. Staff were pleasant. Beds comfy. Paid extra for a river view which was nice and it wasn't too loud in evening despite between a Saturday night and having window open all night. The room was a little disappointing compared to the photos (which look a lot nicer!). The hotel and room is clearly quite old, the carpets and bathroom look old and not the cleanest. We paid quite a high price for the room for a special occasion thinking it would be more luxurious, but we could have got a similar room elsewhere for half the price. So not good value for money unfortunately.

Close to city centre, comfortable beds and amenities pleasant staff Nothing

The 'apartments' that we stayed in were half a block from the 'hotel' portion where we checked in. The location was very quiet yet very close to the center of town.

The location of the Queens Hotel was perfect for exploring York on foot. Our accomodations were very clean and comfoirtable. Our room was spacious. The bed was very comforatable. We had a great view of the city and river from our room. The staff were very kind and helpful. The breakfast was excellent. We were very pleased. The building itself has a few quirks related to its age, but the city itself is extremely old and that is part of its charm. We loved being in the heart of the city. Thank you, Queens Hotel!
