Uniqur location with the best Fuji imagineable. Very atmospheric building. Parking area was a bit of a unique experience and we had an ant problem in the room, but the host solved it very well. With a little more care and attention this has great potential.

The location was absolutely fantastic with the front rooms facing Mt. Fuji and the lake. It is right off the main road so there is limited traffic and plenty of trails for bikes and walks. I also loved the artwork on the walls and the royken historic charm. It was overall memorable and peaceful. Because we stayed here we were able to catch a glimpse of Mt. Fuji through the cloud coverage. We were able to use the individual HVAC and control each room independently for comfort. Two toilets and two sinks are provided for the three rooms. We rented two of the three rooms. Since it is a small house it was loud as the other resident came in around midnight and left before 8am. If you rent the entire place it might be perfect, otherwise it felt more like a hostel. Sleeping on the floor tami mats were not very comfortable, but I found another bed pad and it was much better. No staff were available during the stay which was calm, but we could not ask simple questions like getting additional mats, etc. The parking is between boats and sometimes other people were parked there so it was not a dedicated parking space.

The location was a real gem to me for this trip, I have a room that you can just open the curtain and you will see beautiful sunset or sunshine of Mont Fuji, this is especially great in freezing cold winter. Of course you can just walk down the lake within 1 minute in good season. Staff was great and self check-in was very easy and you can park your car near the house. If a sign-post on the roadside to guide the drive in will even better :)

The next morning the mountain showed up, it was breathtaking, definitely recommend this place! The roads are a little dirty

The location was good if you have a car, not sure about other transportation. There was no bed, a light pad on the floor I had to bring in my car cushion and slept on that and the provided pillow and blanket for cushion.. honestly horrible sleep. Not worth the $100 plus I paid..

It was beautiful and we had a very nice talk with the owner, we were the only booked room that night so we had the entire house for us it was amazing, thank you again

Although bathroom, kitchen and living room is shared, the bathroom has both women and men and they are super clean. The kitchen supply is enough and it’s very close to a 711 if you need breakfast. The Fuji room view is amazing!!! The entire house is warm. The kitchen is a little messy.

The location is the best. It's located next to Lake Yamanaka. Mt.Fuji can be clearly seen from the room window. The facility is clean and simple. Despite being shared, the common areas were comfortable and spacious enough. The host responded quickly to our inquiries. Although we did not meet in person, we felt well supported and well taken care of during our stay. Nothing.

The views were amazing the pictures do not lie The bed was a little uncomfortable but it is a traditional style sleeping arrangement

We had a wonderful stay at Guest House Zen. The house is so beautiful and cosy with a breathtaking view on Mount Fuji. It is really well located, the lake is surrounded with good restaurants and little ice scream shops. Thank you Guest House Zen <3

Perfect view of Mt.Fuji right in front of the property…. The Japanese style room also very nice and give you a traditional experience while staying in Japan. There is bicycle rental shop next door (3 mins walking distance), so you can get around the lake with bicycle comfortably. -

Probably the most beautiful view from a hotel I've had. If there's no clouds, it's truly worth the money because you will see Fuji in all its glory. If the weather is bad, not worth staying here because there's nothing to do in the town and it's far away from most food places even though there's a 7/11. The staff didn't really explain anything to us except give us the key and that's it.
