Villa JJ and Spa Ubud

The ricefield outside the bungalows has been left to rest during a new irrigation project, so it is overgrown & not like before They have also stopped serving lunch & dinner at the restaurant so if you don’t have your own transport it could be a bit inconvenient

The view was beautiful and walking around the property was a dream. The spa services were also next level amazing and super affordable, I’ve ever been so relaxed after a treatment! It was so nice having a small fridge to use and a large communal breakfast area for bigger meals. I sadly didn’t use the pool but it looked really nice. The location is a bit far out but so peaceful and easy enough to get around by Grab or Gojek. Perhaps the biggest disappointment was that 80% of why I booked the bungalow was for the huge bath but it didn’t work my entire stay. Even when the kind man working the front said he fixed it, sadly it was not actually fixed. It was more an issue with the hot water never lasting more than 5 minutes and no one wants to take a cold bath, that’s what a pool is for. They offered to change rooms but the other 20% was for the view which I would lose and it was only on the last day so it seemed a hassle to move everything for one night. Another issue is the bungalow, although beautiful, has a lot of cracks where various bugs and creatures could get in so that was a constant in the room though I was not terribly bothered by it personally it’s just good to know. Also, the breakfast was very limited and the noodle dish does not mention that it has meat in it so I sadly had to send it back when it arrived. The lady at the desk seemed really annoyed and although the rest of the staff were super sweet, she in general could not care less and it showed. Also the dogs next door were crying and barking all night every night and due to the cracks, I could hear everything clear as day.

Location in rice paddies, 20 minute Grab ride into Ubud for $4-5 USD. The pools were very refreshing. The staff were great, Julie was very helpful as was everyone. Felt a little isolated after a few days, restaurant only open for breakfast because it was rainy season, not a lot of guests. Also WiFi was not good, kept getting disconnected.

It's a great place to find yourself and relax. It says there were some technical problems. This guy had no electricity. There was no hot water. But these were resolved within a few days. It shouldn't have happened, but it still happens.

Amazing hotel here that my partner and I stayed at. We had a small bungalow right next to the rice fields and it was amazing. Free breakfast was great with a choice of Eggs, omelettes, waffles or other options with fresh fruit juice and coffee. We did the full body massage with body scrub and bath our second day and it was amazing such a great price for almost 2 hours of massage. They had lots of other options varying in prices but all affordable for what you get. Best part of all though was how great the staff here was. They were so helpful and kind. We had a super late check in at 2:30am and one of the boys waited up for us/ the receptionists gave us great advice and helped book our Gojek to the harbour. Amazing service and kindness thank you guys all so much! We liked it all

Very friendly staff and always willing to help specially to staff named wei-wei, perfect swimming pool, villa is perfect for family and privacy, therapist are well experienced, scooter rental is available, value for money. Spa bed is quiet smelly and we felt itchiness after the massage, but the therapist are good. Some parts of the hotel need to be maintained.

Superb

Lovely cabin about 15 minutes north of Ubud, overlooking the rice fields. The staff were very helpful and friendly, nice and simple choice of breakfast. Restaurant and motorbike rental available. Great view of rice field. Air-con good, bathroom sizeable. Cabin smaller than expected.  Weak floorboards, ready to break, had to tread carefully, and I'm not heavy! This said, we'd stay again.

Good

I took the small wooden house on the rice fields and it was magical. I could sit out and watch the stars, and fall asleep to the sounds of nature. The team here are so lovely, super helpful and the local community is really special up here in the northern parts of Ubud. It’s quiet, natural and relaxed…

Beds and baathroom AC sound

I've traveled a lot and it was from far the worst bed l've ever had. I couldn't sleep well a single night, really the matras was awful. And don't mention the cleaniness, the mosquito net and sheets were full with stain... the room full with insects. Really I didn't like a single thing, just the view of rice terras on the other side... but you don't have any view from the villas 4,5,6. It's a pitty, because when you look the photos it looks old but beautiful and on the contrary... it's even older and they should change a lot of things. I will never come back, for the same price or a bit more you can have a lot better.

There were 2 cute cats. Otherwise not much Honestly we had a poor experience from the beginning. We got there about 2 hours before check in so we were expecting to have to wait a bit. However, when we got checked in the front desk told us the room would be ready by 1:30pm (half an hour before check in time) but this place was definitely not booked up and there would have most definitely have been an already empty room. We sat while listening to the staff in a room close by joking and laughing and then almost exactly 10 minutes before 1:30 two of them grabbed the cleaning supplies and went to clean the room. Keep in mind check out is 12 so they also could have very easily have cleaned the room early for us. The website and booking.com page for this property is also very deceiving. You would think you are staying right in the middle of the rice fields and be somewhat secluded. THIS IS NOT THE CASE! These photos you are seeing must be very outdated because there is no view of the rice fields appart from a small window above the bed because the area around the property is packed with new resorts. THIS NEEDS TO BE UPDATED. Once we finally got to our room we walked past 1 of the 2 pools they have for general use and we straight away decided that we weren't putting a single toe in it. The bottom of the pool was BLACK and the tiles on the side were covered in unusual brown spots. Inside our room we thought that it wasn't too bad. That's until you head out the side to the bathroom. The sinks were not clean. The floors were not clean and the bathtub was downright disgusting with green moss covering the sides. The layout of the bathroom is also not well thought out. If you are planning to stay here during rainy season you will get wet while sitting on the toilet since it is basically in direct line of any rain. This toilet was also dysfunctional. It didn't flush well at all and leaked out the back quite badly.

Exceptional

Very clean and tidy. Like how private it was however had to share two pools amongst all the rooms in the villa which we tried not to make so much noise when using the pool. Didn’t like how there was no butter and milk provided at breakfast and how stingy the food for breakfast was. Asked for extra toast and got charged for that ?? $1 for a slice of toast.
