TOKYU STAY Hida-Takayama Musubi no Yu

Buffet breakfast (2nd favorite the entire trip) was wonderful with a good mix of western and local, and one of the reasons this property was chosen. In addition, hotel was a short walk (2 min) from the JR train station and local bus station (has a handy machine for breaking bigger bills into 1000 yen) and easiest way to get to Hida Folk Village (can buy combo ticket for roundtrip bus + entry for 1,000Y) and other tours. Our main goal for visiting Takayama was seeing Shin-Hotaka Ropeway and Kamikochi which were definitely a highlight for our group. Rooms were spacious, shower tub and toilet combined, plenty of hooks, and enough room for luggage. Appreciated having the included washer/dryer combo (be prepared it can take several hours), water and ice machine on each floor, welcome snack, and free footbath after a long day of exploring. Modest grocery store Boss Foods about 10-15 min walk away on the opposite side of the train station. Would definitely stay again! No complaints!

Room layout worked well and nice to have an in room washer and dryer. Enjoyed reading about local artisans and seeing their creations on each floor of the hotel. Horrible breakfast quality. Bathrooms felt they belong in a camper.

Awesome Aya and marvelous Mile at the front desk provided exceptional customer service and made us feel very welcome. If we have a choice, we will always choose Tokyu Stay!!! We highly recommend Tokyu Stay to anyone — truly great service, amenities, and overall comfort. Their design staff have excellent taste!!

The onsen ruined me forever on hot tubs. I can now only do Japanese onsens. And we only did the public ones. They’re so good. The room had a phenomenal tatami mat cove where my kids slept that also served as our dining room. The view out of this was worth it even without the onsen. Eating in our yukata even from 7-11 was an experience I can’t compare.

We had a very nice, modern room with a great view of the locality with mountains in the background. This hotel is exactly adjacent to the JR Train Station and Bus Station, making it an excellent choice for those using this transportation. The hotel is a pleasant walk to the morning market and the old town. The room was spacious with comfortable beds. Breakfast was very good. We were very happy with this hotel. It is good value for the money. We would stay here again and highly recommend it. All was good; no complaints.

Literally at the train station! Service is wonderful, rooms feel new and clean, room has a washer. Public and private onsen available. Free welcome beer and snacks. The breakfast buffet was 100% worth it! Cultural items on several floors. Farther from center of tourist shops but nice to “go home” to a quieter area. Also easier to lug luggage to the station rather than from father away.

Great location, right next to the train station. Easy to drag along large suitcases ? Many options in breakfast for vegetarians and vegans. Onsen and foot bath are a big plus after a long day of walking. Lounge are with coffee machines for early morning coffee. Nothing

We are very comfortable with the stay and had very good dinner with good Wagyu beef and excellent hospitality. We also had a in house washing machine and dryer as well so we are in good shape. Nothing to like actually.

The location is perfect. Right next to the Takayama station. Super easy access to train and bus if you are basing in Takayama. Short walk to the more popular tourist was nice. Room was very comfy especially the bed and comforter. Enjoy watching the snow off the tatami area with big window. Laundry/dry machine and detergent are both available in the room which help with longer travel days. Public onsen on the 2F was great too and you could check crowdedness using TV. I would 100% stay here again!

Breakfast a bit too standard, not much choice of good spread of Jap dishes. Cleaning room - seems to be dependent on who is on duty. One day it was room made up with changing of towels. Not even washing used cups. Another day is just changing towels even though we put up cleaning room magnet.
