The hotel has a fantastic location; the rooftop offers a direct view of the Sydney Opera House, and the night view is beautiful. While the breakfast selection wasn't extensive, the food was quite good. I personally felt the room was a bit dimly lit and the bathroom was too small.
-
Location, staff , and common areas and facilities Exclusive room facilities are limited , but you can use common facilities for food preparation and others
-
Noise insulation leaves a lot to be desired as you can hear almost everything coming from the hallway. Because the sink is not in the bathroom but rather right outside of it, that also adds to the noise in the night when your roommates have electronic toothbrushes. Not much socialization between other travelers but it's not a dealbreaker.

Basically a hostel, with teenagers slamming doors all day long. The property is original but the room felt like a prison cell. The breakfast has no healthy options, instant coffee and sweet things to eat. I paid a lot for that…very disappointed. Not worth the money. I don’t understand how this place has so many good reviews.
-
Fantastic location close to all public transport and food options. Historic area of the Rocks on the doorstep and right next to Harbour Bridge. All good
-
Air conditioning seemed "one size fits all" so was too hot (mid winter) at times. A bit of a walk to public transport (but not too far).
-
They somehow have to work on that hostel community activities stuff that get people to hang out. The rooftop bar was awesome but very quiet with only a few couples.

Nothing!!!!! This is simply a hostel: dirty rooms, an unclean bed with other people’s hair in it, and an awful, extremely basic breakfast consisting only of bread, butter, and tea. This has been our worst accommodation experience in several years. When booking a hotel through Booking.com, I rely on the information provided by the platform. Therefore, when I book a five-star hotel, I have clear expectations regarding the level of service and the quality of the accommodation. Being placed in what is essentially a hostel instead of a five-star hotel is completely unacceptable. I believe that a platform offering such accommodation must take responsibility when the information presented to customers is inaccurate and misleading.

Co-working place with Jitchen Bunk beds are not pleasant. It's moving when someone on the top bunk moves...

This is one of the best-value places to stay in the city. The location is excellent, the room is comfortable, and you can even enjoy a beautiful view of the Sydney Opera House from the rooftop. The only concern was that the door did not seem to lock from the inside, which made us feel a little uneasy as female guests.

Everything was great.

With the view of Sydney Opera House from my window and from the roof bar, it is one of most amazing experiences in my long traveling experience. Quiet, clean and friendly. A hidden gem. Nothing

Location They did not clean after day 1

I am 74 years old and have made the YHA my go-to on trips to Sydney on multiple occasions; its less than a year since last time but each time it is a consistently good location with great amenities and the best proximity to The Rocks, Circular Quay & all transport. A private room with Queen bed, your own bathroom and a view of the Opera House is very good value. Just a hop, step (many steps) and a jump to George Street. The bar on Level 3 has an extraordinary view of the Harbour - best place to see Vivid.
-
Great location, nice rooftop bar/sitting area, nice kitchen facility- easy to cook yourself if you want, nice little community events led by staff. It’s also new and in good shape! Expensive considering it’s not an upmarket hotel. I booked a couple of days before my stay and I know that was part of the reason, but it was still quite pricey.
-
Amazing location and view from the top floor, really clean and comfortable beds, big kitchen for cooking You can hear EVERYTHING in the room, it is very quiet, especially because the sink is separate from the toilet and not behind a door.
-
Location, Staff, Cleanliness, Uniqueness, Food, Advanced Technology The shower is difficult to mixed the hot and cold. I don't know if there was a technique but all through out my stay, It did not work. either very hot or very cold. ??
-
Great staff and best location in Sydney! Also, the rooftop is amazing. I could hear and feel the steps of the person staying next to my room. The room has a weird smell. Also, the breakfast is very simple. Needs some protein.

Walking there from Circular Quay station with a big heavy bag was a bit of a nightmare, we're talking up hill and stairs galore. That is the Rocks for you. It was not built with accessibility in mind. If you are driving to the YHA, you'll be dropped off at the front so no probs there.

Great location and view from the terrace. Very spacious communal areas.
