Hampton Inn Stow

Surprised that there was only decaf coffee for the room coffeemaker. Checked at the front desk only to learn there was no regular coffee available.

No hot tub - pool was not open Eggs for breakfast were not real eggs

Clean, comfortable, right beside Smokers ETC if you enjoy cigars! Staff was a bit rude when I told them they gave us the wrong room like it was my fault… when i clearly had proof of my king rook reservation.

Reservations did no justice. Room was not ready or cleaned when I made it to check in. Then they made me wait another 30 minutes until I was left no choice but to book somewhere else.

We stayed 2 nights. I am an IHG member and generally pick Hampton Inn as a stay place because of their quality. The first night, we had trouble with the TV as you could not punch in a channel because they had the silly system with channel numbers with dashes and the very basic remote didn’t help. The bathroom water smelled like well water, the carpet felt damp underfoot, the beds (one of the main reasons we stay at Hampton) were not comfortable and the shower diverter only went up half way. Because of that, we were switched to another room for the next night. This room was slightly better. The shower worked and the floor didn’t feel damp underfoot. Breakfast was also not Hampton standards. Neither day had any kind of eggs and, on the second morning, the only hot dishes were waffles and pale sausage links. The staff was helpful but corporate needs to fix this hotel to Hampton standards.

Shower head out of adjustment, air conditioner leaking and wash basin falling off the wall. Staff very responsive to the problems but not all could be rectified.

Staff was friendly

Good location, clean property and friendly staff. A good choice in the area.

Close to the event I attended. Breakfast selection was sparse.

Everything was great except breakfast could of been stocked better

The first room they put us in smelled like cigarettes and this was a non-smoking property. The bed linens were dirty and the floor needed to be swept. They gave us another room on a different floor. That room was much better but the floor still looked like it hadn’t been swept for a while.

Breakfast was not as good as comparable hotels, fewer selections, some items not replenished. The pool was too cold.

Both the bathroom and the room door were coming off of the hinges and in order to close the door and lock it I had to slam it shut ...the broken door hinge had the door hitting the jam. Same problem with the bathroom door. I have never seen this before. With respect though to the staff I was informed of it ahead of time but did not want to move as then i would have been on a different floor than my daughter. I had stayed at this Hampton Inn before but not for about five years. Since I first stayed it has depreciated significantly in overall cleanliness. I was not even comfortable with the linen.

The staff was friendly and helpful…there just wasn’t enough of them to meet the needs of the customers (not the staffs fault). The property is in need of upgrades and general maintenance.

We arrived at 10:30pm after having previously booked and paid for the room. However, they couldn’t give us a room because they said they sold the room even though they didn’t have one. They promised to refund our money “tonight” but that was a week ago and we still haven’t seen the funds! At one level we are happy we didn’t have to stay there - the place is a dump. If we weren’t so tired and unhappy, we would have taken photos!
