The old style was very cool. Unique for sure. Cute town and shops are close. The restaurant and bar inside looked very nice. Didn’t get to go to either tho. The buildings, all of them, are NOT ADA compliant. Parking for handicapped is awful. There’s only 1 handicapped parking in front of hotel. There’s 1 in the back of the building, but unless you can walk, it’s not easy to maneuver around. It’s a rocky gravel. To go into the offsite buildings you have to go up steps. Both me and my partner are disabled. We were put in a building abt 2 blocks away from Main hotel. I’m not supposed to go up stairs, but that was the only way in. They did not have an ada room as I requested 5 months before my trip. No Ada bathroom. We had to leave because they can’t accommodate ADA guests. They only refunded one night out of our two. Not fair when they couldn’t accommodate any ada needs. If you are handicapped you will need to climb into bed. It’s very high. They are old fashioned beds. We couldn’t even get into the beds because they’re too high. The hotel itself is very unique and interesting. If you’re healthy, you’ll be fine, but if you have any issues or you’re elderly, this is not the right place for you. The staff was friendly and did send a young man to help us unload our car and after having to checkout he came back to help us again. He told us he was off the clock though. He shouldn’t have done that off the clock.

Property, especially the rooms, are in desperate need of an upgrade

We loved our stay here. It’s not a modern cookie cutter experience. We loved the history and antique nature of the property.

The room was clean and comfortable. The Inn was unique but we didn't know ahead of time we would be staying 1.5 blocks from the main building where the restaurant and bar were on a rainy night with limited parking. The staff was helpful with coming and helping with the TV and Espresso machine, but by the time we realized we couldn't get online we didn't bother them again.

The staff including the supervisor on duty and desk person were both very friendly and helpful. Had breakfast in the main dining room and it was great tasting.

The staff and the dining options, as well as the overall ambiance. The room had some drawbacks for us older folk. The bed was very high. The toilet was very low. The tub and shower were hard to get in and out of and the shower curtain did not reach all the way around the tub so the floor ended up getting pretty wet.

    Perfect.

Maintenance problems in room. Property made up for it.

I am not retired and still need an internet connection when I travel and the day we stayed there the internet was down and had been for a few days.

It is a little pricey for what you get but we loved the property and the area and will be back!

a very old building with tons of history and character. The room was very clean and comfortable and the staff was excellent...very friendly and accommodating.

Historic Inn with lots of nostalgia, character, esteemed guest list and many museum-worthy artifacts and memorabilia items! Rooms are quaint, and though expected to be somewhat rustic, are a bit run down - stained carpeting, leaky tub, lukewarm shower in the evening, etc. Great mattress on the bed, and nice clean linens, robe, etc! Great location! Friendly staff!

This is a historic and very dated hotel. Be aware there are numerous buildings and you may not be in a room in the main building. Although the setting of our room was quiet and pleasant, the condition of the building is in need of updating, and frequent outdoor cleaning and sweeping for spider webs. The beds are comfortable and very clean. The internet was not working the entire stay, no one answered at the front desk or returned our call, but in person, everyone is very helpful. Food in the Tavern was good, the pot pie is a very small serving!I No extra amenities, no in room refrigerator, no ice and the ice maker in the main area was not working. Very easy access to backroad to Tanglewood! If you are looking for historic, this is the place.

The location is great and the charm of the old inn is also great Our TV was not working. They tried to help but were not able to

Everything about the Inn is extraordinary The nails are coming through in the carpet going into the bathroom

This is an old inn. It’s elegant, fun and very comfortable. Lots of dark, antique furniture and communal card games. The staff is friendly and some have been there many years. Many of the guests return year after year. If that’s what you’re looking for, you will love it. I do. If you are looking for sleek and spotless, you are best suited elsewhere.

We liked the porch, the history behind the inn and the ambiance Shower curtain didn't close completely and water sprayed all over the toilet

  • Engine customer Aug 2026

The room was huge. The beds were comfortable and the AC worked great. The bathroom was gorgeous, fully remodeled with top notch finishings. We had dinner and breakfast there and both meals were great. The chairs in our room were kind of shabby as was the carpeting in the hallways in our building. I think layout of the buildings is a bit confusing and a porter might be a good idea for older people as our building had no elevator.

The staff were superb. I can wholly appreciate the history of the building and all the historical information provided throughout the in. The location and porch were ideal for our morning coffee. Gift shops were exquisite. Again, I wholly appreciate the beautiful building, antiques and history the Inn provides. However, the fabric on the two chaise lounges in our room was WELL beyond its years and was the first thing we noticed upon entering. Also, staircases and carpets looked in need of a good vacuum and mop.
