HBB Hostel is perfectly located in Vila Madalena, very close to Beco de Batman, lots and lots of restaurants, bars and cute cafés. I liked the layout of the female dorm a lot, which allows for lots of privacy. There is a women-only bathroom with showers right next to the room, which is super convenient. I didn't mind the 8min timer on the showers, I actually think it's a good idea. They charge 15 reais if you leave your luggage after 14 o'clock on the day of check-out (didn't apply to me, but I do think it's good to know)

The Hostel is in a very nice and safe location. Close to the supermarkets nice bars and cafes. It looks nice and cozy. The staff was very helpful and nice. The room was a disorganized. There aren't many places to sit and relax.

The location-Safe, quiet neighborhood with a variety of restaurants, shops. Nothing

The location is perfect, just have in mind that the roads go up and down so you'll train legs a lot. The staff is attentive and charismatic, very friendly people

Great location in fun area with lots of bars and restaurants. Super friendly staff. Longer than necessary check in process. Staff seemed to congregate in the kitchen the whole time for long meals. Not very social. Lots of strange rules.

Nothing. I could not stay because their machines did not accept my card, whicha was accepted everywhere else. The bad predisposition, rudeness and lack of will to help me from the people in the reception. I was left with no place to stay at 10 PM and I was not even given the chance to pay in cash or leave a deposit in dollars. I found this hostel to be disastrous.

- Great location in a nice walkable area of Sao Paulo with lots of bars and restaurants around, plus the Beco do Batman street art gallery. 20 minutes' walk to two different metro stations on different lines. - Cheap for the area Private room was not worth it for multiple reasons: 1. They restrict the air-conditioning from 8PM to 8AM, which is something we have never seen in any other hostel private rooms anywhere in the world. If you want Aircon during the day, they charge 20 reais per 24h. It also seems to be a manual process so we had to ask them to turn on the Aircon after 8am on a day we had paid for already. When I mentioned that this could have been made much clearer on the listing, the staff blamed Booking.com for that, which is absurd. They write the room descriptions and they do not say the aircon is limited or paid. They could make it clear, but they choose not to. 2. The room faces the street and is exceptionally noisy with no soundproofing. 3. The furniture was sparse and really worn. Pillows very lumpy. Electrical outlets loose/potentially unsafe. 4. No towels provided, which again we have never seen when paying for a private room at a hostel. 5. As others have said, the female toilet is downstairs and the male upstairs. If you are a (straight) couple, one of you is always going to have to walk a pretty long distance to use the toilet or shower. As for the hostel itself, the bar area at the front is ok but the rest of the hostel is very tired and nowhere looks comfortable or welcoming for hanging out. The staff had very poor attention to detail and made mistakes multiple times (forgetting to turn on our aircon, trying to charge us at checkout after we'd paid at check-in, charging us twice for beers).

Nice new hostel, very clean and with good services. The staff are very friendly as well. The bar outside the front is a good place to meet new people through events like beer pong and karaoke. Beds were comfy. I don’t have a bad word to say about the property.

Shower is not clean and really uncomfortable

Nice hostel Nothing

The people and the place! Clean, friendly staff, good amenities. Sometimes the AC didn’t turn on and left the room very hot with minimal ventilation.
-
Cute hostel and a beautiful neighborhood. The beds were comfortable. Would stay again
-
Nice rooms with curtains, Great location Showers limited to 8 minutes Outside/common areas definitely look bigger on photos
-
The beds were comfy and had everything you'd need - privacy curtain, a light, plug to charge. The lockers were really tiny and difficult to get into your stuff if you had stuffed everything in there. The female bathroom is on the ground floor, so if you have a room upstairs, it's quite a way to the bathroom.

Uber is super cheap from there and Metro lines are good and easy to connect to Japan town in the morning for lunch and came back easily from Av. paulista in the evening when dark and felt super safe. Area is SUPER clean didnt see a single thrash on the floor of the streets. pay extra fir aircon but its like 1 euro a day. a bit noisy tillmidnight.
